Six Feet Under The Stars

chapter 8

(January 9th)

We were all piled into Stars car on our way to the mountains. Alex we driving, I was in the passenger seat, and Jack and Star are in the back seat.

"I can't believe we are actually going to the mountains skiing!" Star said for the millionth time.

"I can't believe you said that again." Alex grumbled. 

"Sorry for being happy. Now stop grumbling and keep your eyes on the road." Star snapped. Alex just mumbled something incoherent and kept on driving.

"Alex I gotta pee!" Jack whined like a little child.

"We just stopped five minutes ago because you needed to pee" I pointed out.

"Yeah well I have to pee again." Jack stated.

"Your such a child Jack." Star laughed.

"But I'm your child." Jack said quietly to Star. 

"Yeah you are." She smiled. I turned around in my seat to see Star and Jack making out.

"EEW!" I yelled covering my eyes with my hands and quickly turn back around.

"Grow up Jess!" Star barked playfully.

"No thank you. I'm happy acting like I'm 10." I stuck out my tongue at Star. She just roller her eyes and snuggled back into Jack.

"So how long until we get there?" I asked Alex.

"I'm thinking like 3 more hours." Alex replied. I nodded my head and grabbed Alex's hand that wasn't on the steering wheel and intertwined out fingers. Alex looked over at me and smiled, I returned the smile.

"Jessie, your stealing my baby away from me!" Jack whined from the back seat.

"Sorry Jack." I apologized.

[Fast forward to the end of the drive]

"Wow." I whispered in awe as we drove up to the resort.

"Its beautiful." Star whispered, awestruck like I was.

"Damn! I hope there is no yetis here." Jack worried as he chewed him nails.

"I just hope I remember how to do this." Alex joked as he pulled up behind a cabin.

"Well, lets start moving in." I directed as Alex cut the engine.

"Okay." Everyone said at the same time as they got out of the vehicle. We all walked to the back of the car and got our suitcases. I was struggling to carry mine when Alex came and grabbed it.

"Thank you." I said gratefully.

"No problem. Anything for M'lady." Alex replied as he walked into the cabin with my suitcase and his.

"Alex why don't you ever do things like that for me?" Star asked almost sounding jealous.

"Because I'm not the helpful one, I'm the funny one." He explained. You could almost hear him smirking. There was a 'smack' sound from the front door. I was pretty sure Star had hit Jack. To prove me right Jack and Star came walking into the main part of the cabin with Jack rubbing his arm.

"So are we going to go rent our stuff now or in the morning?" Star asked looking at me and Alex.

"I say now because none of us are really morning people." I decided.

"Jessie's got a point." Alex agreed.

"Then lets roll out!" Jack exclaimed as he sat down on the floor and began to do somersaults.
