CALLUM'S PENTHOUSE
london, england

"last day of filming, how are you feeling?" i asked callum who was putting on his carhartt jacket in the living room. i held up my camcorder that we had gotten at a flea market just the other weekend. "go on, tell the camera how you're feeling."

callum couldn't help but chuckle at my antics. he took a moment to look into the camera, a mix of exhaustion and excitement in his eyes. "hey there, camera." he said, his voice deep and husky and his accent only added to it. "i'm feeling a little bit of everything, honestly. it's the last day on set and i'm both relieved and nervous." he said, his tone sincere. he ran a hand through his messy curls. "it feels like this project has been my life for the past several months, so it's surreal to be wrapping things up and moving onto the next phase." he continued, a hint of tiredness in his expression.

i nodded. "and the next phase is back to los angeles." i said as the camera was now pointed on me.

callum nodded in agreement. "that's right. back to la." he said, his gaze flickering to me before returning to the camera. "but first..." he said as he grabbed the handy cam from me and pointed it at me. "...some footage of my lovely girlfriend." he said, a cheeky grin on his face. i couldn't help but smile, feeling a flutter in my stomach at his words. "say hi to the camera, love."

i laughed and leaned in close to the camera, giving a cheeky wave. "hello everyone." i said, my voice cheerful. "please excuse the messy hair, it's early."

callum chuckled beside me, clearly enjoying this little moment of levity. "i think your messy hair looks adorable." he said, his tone sincere. "the viewers will agree with me, i'm sure."

i rolled my eyes playfully, feeling a warm blush on my cheeks. "oh, shut up." i playfully swat at his arm, though i secretly liked his words. i looked back at the camera with a grin before taking it back from him. "you have to go before you're late for your last day."

callum glanced at his rolex watch that i had previously gifted him, realizing that i was right. he sighed, reluctantly pulling away from me. "you're right, i gotta get going." he said.

he grabbed his keys from the counter and walked over to me, giving me a quick kiss on the forehead. "see you later, love." he said.

i smiled softly and nodded. "bye callum," i said as i opened the front door.

"and don't forget, we have that party tonight." callum reminded me.

i nodded. "yes of course, i won't forget." i assured him.

callum gave me one more smile before heading out of the door. i watched as he walked down the hallway, feeling a slight sense of emptiness now that he was gone.

11am

i was sitting on the couch beside bear, scrolling through instagram reels when i got an unexpected call. one from jacob. quickly i sat up from my deep slouch and answered.

"hello?" i said while putting him on speaker.

there was a moment of silence before jacob's deep australian voice came through. "hey there, kacey." he said, his tone casual. "did i catch you at a bad time?"

i shook my head, even though he couldn't see me. "no, no. perfect timing actually." i said, trying to sound nonchalant. "how's it going?"

i could hear jacob's warm chuckle on the other end of the line. "can't complain. just finished up a shoot and thought i'd give you a call to discuss something." he said.
