From minutes of ongoing head scans it showed that Riley had gotten not only a broken arm, but also a good amount of head trauma from the 'event' back at the park.

When the Andersen's had gotten home Riley stared in the mirror, as much as it pained her to do so she couldn't stop messing with the bandages on her head, she fixed her hair around the bandage to hide it more but it was too noticeable being wrapped around her head.

"Is she seriously going to have to go out like that now?!" Disgust gagged at the sight, slamming the control panel "Do we have a choice? I mean.." Sadness backtracked her words "It doesn't look too bad.."

"It looks so.. so.." Disgust was at a loss for words, as much as she hated it she bit her lip accepting it, as long as Riley was healing that's all she cared about at the moment.

Riley then sat on the floor in-front of her mirror, the emotions felt like she's been glued to it for so long inspecting herself. In the moment none of the emotions could think too much about it, all they tried to do was try their best to keep their minds off of the bad things happening now- but with so much pressure it felt impossible.

Joy mainly kept note of how with the head trauma Riley got a large amount of memory loss, while the emotions bickered about their ideas Joy stayed to herself looking outside the windows of head quarters.

"No wonder why everything's so grey." Joy chuckled to herself, staring blankly at the long facility of long term memories, half of Riley's memories had this grey hue to them "Riley, please don't forget them now..."

Even the islands weren't as vibrant as Joy remembered, they emitted a more faded color that washed out everything around it.

While the emotions were complaining about the situation Anger pushed by them and pointed to Joy "Besides EVERYTHING THOUGH-"
he grumbled, his head began crackling and everyone stood back expecting another blaze-

"This doesn't explain why only Joy's memories are GREY!" Anger took a moment to shake his hands, relieving his stress.

Joy turned around to the other emotions, her eyes seemed dark and empty "I'd rather not find out, just not now.." Joy shuffled her notes and held them close to her chest.

Anger let his hands drag along his face "AAAUUUGHH.." he hollered "What if Riley's memory loss is the cause of Riley experiencing less Joy?" Anxiety pitched in, stiffening the odd purple glasses she had on her face.

"Okay, okay, now we need to know when this thing is going to go away then" Joy stood up shifting her eyes to the screen, she had doubts about Riley recovering soon.

"And we will find that out." Anxiety turned back to the console, "I have an idea though," Joy lifted a finger "Maybe-"

"JOY!" . .

Anxiety's hair rose like she was being electrocuted, she flashed an aggravated look at Joy, making her flinch from her scream "I.. I feel like it would be best if you stay out of this for now."

Everyone seemed to agree with Anxiety, Anger looked back and forth from the other emotions and Joy "But.. ugh." Anger decided to stay reserved for now, knowing he couldn't argue with them "Sorry Joy..." He whispered.

Joy felt a wave of guilt wash over her, she silently crept away over to their bedrooms and shut the door behind her.

It seemed like anytime from before that Joy wanted to do anything the memory would come out grey, or when she touched something it would turn grey- like how with Sadness a long ago when she used to touch memories and turn them blue.

Maneuvering Riley through this day was hard was, she wasn't enthusiastic about anything anymore, she looked around as if this is her new life and the last was just a dream.

Joy decided to listen and stay astray while the other emotions took over, it felt lonely, sure, but it kept everyone safe.

"It was all my fault after all."

Joy rested her head on her pillow and tried to dream, her mind felt too foggy to make anything out, every sleep she woke up to the same dull self she always was.

"Honestly, I wouldn't mind my last life here was just a dream and every time I sleep I'd wake up to a new reality. Whatever a new reality is." Joy thought.

The door creaked open and Joy turned around in her bed to face the wall, she thought that maybe it was already nighttime and everyone was coming in, she felt too embarrassed to let anyone see her so she covered herself in her blanket.

"Joy?.." Anger dragged his feet over to her bed "I know that you probably don't want to talk to me and all.." Anger tapped his feet nervously "I just.. uh, feel like everything will be fine, alright?" Anger's way of comforting  Joy felt amusing to hear, she definitely didn't expect Anger of all emotions to come in to 'help'.

"This is just another bad moment in Riley's life, and we'll fix it like we always do!" Anger adjusted his tie, feeling way more refreshed after letting that out.

Joy turned around, pulling the covers away from her "Oh yeah?" She whispered "Yeah.. I just came here to tell you that you shouldn't beat yourself up over it.. You know, from the whole tree thing.." Anger gleamed, a smile turning on his face.

Joy laughed "I know one emotion that would love to beat me up right now, haha!" Joy's voice felt so silky to Anger, in a time like this the last thing he needed was another angry person yelling in his face, he just thought it felt right listening to Joy's voice.

"I can't stay here for long though Joy, i'll be with the others incase you need me.." Anger smirked, he turned around to step back to the door feeling oddly accomplished.

Joy snapped her fingers, gaining Anger's attention back "Say.. Maybe we can talk again sometime again really early tomorrow morning? Just the two of us by the window? I need to talk with you about something.." Joy tapped her fingers looking to the side, it seemed as if she was.. Hiding something.

This question made Anger's mind buzz "Uh- um.. Sure yeah!" Anger then rushed through the door shutting it behind him, he held his hand to the door once he closed it, scrunching his fists.

Anger had a bad feeling about Joy, a very bad feeling, but at the same time he trusted her, he felt dumb for thinking it but he felt as if he could trust Joy more than any of the other emotions there, for now Anger just felt like flying by— keeping an eye on everyone.

I mean.. that is his job, right?
