Andrew had his one hand on the steering wheel of a black Mercedes Benz from 1951 and the other arm hanging outside the car window. I'm glad I put my hair up, I thought sitting in the passenger seat, my hair would've been a mess since all the windows of the car were down. My gaze shifted from the green fields to the beautiful man driving the vehicle. A curl had once again escaped from his bun because of the wind. I reached for it and pulled it behind his ear. He side-eyed me with a smile.
"What?" He chuckled.
"I never would've thought you'd be this fancy with your cars and all", I smiled.
"Well this is just for a great entrance", He paused suddenly. "And also to impress you."
I rolled my eyes trying to cover up how much I was blushing. He suddenly fully turned to look at me while driving.
"Baby i'm gonna treat you so nice, you're never gonna want to let me go"
"Well Andrew, you should know at this point that I love you just the way you are, even without the fancy cars", I placed my hand on his cheek.
He smiled as he turned his head to look at the road again. He smiled from ear to ear the rest of the drive.
We arrived to a driveway of a large white mansion. I was truly in awe looking at the beautiful venue from inside the car. The front yard was decorated with flowers and lights and mansions tall wooden doors were wide open.
I was about to open my door but Andrew was already opening it for me. He helped out of the car and closed to door behind as I got up. As we walked hand in hand towards the venue a stressed out man who turned out to be the groom himself approached Andrew to talk about the plans for the performance as I snuck inside.
The mansion looked even more beautiful on the inside. It was a tall building with large windows from the floor to the roof and the glass doors to the terrace were open as well to let the summer heat flow through the place. There were guests everywhere chattering and eating and children running around and giggling but my eyes were soon glued to the buffet table. I quickly headed over to table and started to fill up my plate.
As I was stuffing my mouth full of the vanilla wedding cake decorated with strawberries and cherries some guy came up behind me and tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around to see a very young looking gentleman with short blonde hair and freckles.
"So are you with the groom or the bride?" He asked as the looked me up and down. I wiped the corners of my mouth with a napkin and cleared my throat.
Shit, I haven't thought about a fake storyline about how I know the couple. Maybe I bullied the bride in elementary but then we became best friends and she fell in love with my "brother" or maybe the groom is my "boyfriends" old teammate, I didn't know.
"Um the bride, old friend", I mumbled with my mouth still full of cake. Really, I thought, I should've come up with something much more interesting.
"Nice, I'm the groom younger brother, Liam", the guy smiled with a laugh and held out his hand for me to shake. "You're very beautiful, what's your name?"
I suddenly felt kind of uncomfortable and wanted to get away from this situation but I didn't want to be rude.
"Sorry Liam but how old are you?" I placed my plate down on the corner of the buffet table.
"I'm 21, why?" His face shifted to a look of seriousness and confusion. He was only a few years younger than me but it would've not bothered me before, but now I just wanted nothing to do with this guy and I just wanted to go to Andrew.
"I'm so sorry boy, but I have to go", I picked up my plate and started heading to the terrace were a little stage was setting up and guests were starting to gather around it.
The bride was standing right in front of the stage as the groom stepped on the stage on hold a beautiful speech about his now wife.
I took a seat in a little table more away from the dance floor in front of the stage where now my Andrew was standing on starting his performance. He played one of his most beautiful songs called Work song and the newly married danced their first dance. I couldn't help but to just look at Andrew as he sang his heart out. Sometimes I would catch him gazing at me.
As he continued on with another song a familiar voice came towards me, that Liam kid.
"You know I never caught that name", He shouted through the music, I sighed. "Wanna dance, baby?"
I stood up right as Andrew finished his second and last song.
"I'm not your baby", I walked up to Andrew while stepped off the stage as everyone was applauding for him.
"You were amazing once again, my Andrew", I smiled.
"Thank you, baby", He smiled back but he suddenly looked right past me and then asked, "Is he a friend of yours?", pointing at Liam still hopelessly looking at me.
"Gladly not", I sighed in relief, I was finally with my baby again.
We were about to leave but I quickly saw in the corner of my eye that the bride was going to throw the bouquet so I tapped Andrew on the arm and then rushed in the middle of the group if women and then caught the bouquet just like that. I jumped around in happiness and the women around me clapped. I looked at Andrew who was gazing at me in awe and love in his eyes. I ran up to him and quickly jumped into his arms to kiss him passionately in front of all the wedding guests. Some were gasping and some were clapping.
I landed down, took his hand and blew a kiss at Liam while waving the bouquet in the air before we left the ceremony. Just me, him and an overpriced bouquet of pink roses.
