I made my way down the hallway on my way to potions, but then I ran into someone with blonde hair. Why is it always him? WHY?
"Morning, Draco." I said curtly before proceeding to walk away.
"Wait! Hermione! I was actually looking for you." He caught up to me as I started down the twisting stairwell.
"Why would this be?" I asked.
"I uhm..." He started to blush and rubbed the back of his neck. "I was uh, wondering if you would uhm... Accompany me in Hogsmeade tomorrow?" His face was blushing a furious red. I searched his appearance for anything that said he was joking. He wasn't. Draco Lucius Malfoy was being serious.
I paused and he shuffled his feet while biting his cheek. I honestly did think he was really good looking. "Yeah. Sure." I said smiling.
His head bobbed back up and he smiled brightly revealing his perfect teeth. He grabbed my hand and kissed it. "I'll see you then." He winked and walked off.
What the fuck just happened?
I was going on a date with Draco? Wait till Harry hears about this one. Why did I say yes? Why did I think he was cute-
OHHH SHIT NO. MOTHER OF MERLIN. NOPE. He can't be my mate... Can he?
I shook the thoughts out of my head as I rushed into Slughorns class.
"Well hello miss Granger. Pleasant seeing you here." He looked at the clock. I was five minutes early. Slughorn backed away from me. "Havent seen you this early for class in awhile." He quivered.
"Professor, I know that you know about my... Issue. There is no reason to be scared. I won't hurt you. I may be a Slytherin defendant, but that doesn't mean I'm like Voldemort."
Slughorn was quivering terribly. "I'm sorry miss Granger, but I mustn't take chances." He said and sat down away from me. I sighed and sat down as well. I preformed class today with hardly any issues but Draco kept distracting me, seeing as he was my partner.
Was he my mate? Oh god. I'd be doomed. The dimwit can't even read properly. But he's cute...
SHUT UP HERMIONE.
I crushed the Boazar and stirred it clockwise into the potion.
The day went by fast and I sat awake in my Head Girl dorm. Ginny was with me chatting.
"Harry's taking me to Hogsmeade tomorrow. We were going to try and sneak into the Shrieking Shack. Do you have a date?" She paused and looked at me as she dipped the nail polish brush in the glass bottle. I knew there was another meaning under her words.
"Yes, actually." I cleared my throat and turned on my side.
"Who might the lucky boy be?"
"Draco." I said flatly.
She started laughing uncontrollably. "You're kidding me!?" I stared at the ginger as she stopped laughing.
"You're not joking." She sat up straight on the couch. "Is he the... The one?"
"I'm not sure, but when I'm within his vicinity I can't think straight."
Ginny nodded and examined me from head to toe. "There's only one way to figure out if he is."
I raised an eye brow, confused.
"Kiss him."

I stood outside in the courtyard awaiting Draco. Ginny and Harry had left. I was going to go through with Ginny's idea. She said if I really feel something, then it's true. He'd be my mate. If I didn't feel jack shit, then I'd ditch him and run away.
