Miraculous: The Rise of Ladybug and Cat Noir

Chapter 9

In Miss Bustier's classroom, she was checking her attendance.
"Agreste, Adrien?" she said.
"You say 'present,'" Nino told Adrien quietly.
"Oh." Adrien then jumped up with his hand raised. "Uh, present!" he shouted which made all the other students laugh; Adrien sat down, and he and Nino do a fist-bump although Adrien was thinking, "Thanks a lot Nino, you couldn't have told me that I shouldn't shout it?! Now, I look like an idiot for doing so!"
As Adrien sat back down, Miss Bustier said, "Bourgeois, Chloé?"
"Present!" Chloé said.
"Bruel, Ivan?' Miss Bustier called next.
Just then, Stoneheart entered the room, breaking down the door as he screamed, "Present! Mylène?" Chaos then erupted, and Adrien ran out of the room. Stoneheart saw Mylène and grabbed her.
"Let go of me, Ivan!" Mylène told the beast that was once Ivan.
"I'm not Ivan anymore. I am Stoneheart," Stoneheart told her.
"Why are you doing this?" Mylène whimpered.
"So, you and I can be together forever!" Stoneheart explained.
"Daddy, the monster is back!" Chloé called her father on her phone, just as Stoneheart took her with him; he broke a wall and jumped out of the school.
"Put us down, Ivan!" Mylène tried commanding.
"Come on! Let's follow him!" Alya said to Marinette.
"Uh… Oh, no. You go. I'm finding myself a safe place to hide," Marinette lied.
"Girl, you're gonna miss Ladybug in action!" Alya tried convincing her friend.
Marinette picked up Alya's bag and held it out to Alya as she said, "You and Ladybug will both be better off without me."
Alya gave a shrug, and then said as she ran out of the room, "If you say so!"
"Wait! Your bag! Damnit Alya!" Marinette called after her as she ran after Alya.
Meanwhile in the locker room, at Adrien's open locker.
"Damn, my first day of school and I don't even make it past roll call," Adrien complained.
"A day off? Now that is what I am talking about!" Plagg said gleefully.
"Oh, no, no, no, no. We've got homework to do. Plagg, claws out!"
Adrien told his kwami as he transformed into Cat Noir.
Outside of the school, Stoneheart was still holding Mylène and Chloé captive.
"You have no idea who you're dealing with. My daddy, the mayor, will bring in the police, the army, the entire cavalry!" Chloé tried threatening her captor.
"And don't forget the superheroes!" Cat Noir added as he hit Stoneheart with his staff, but Stoneheart just grew bigger. "Oh no. My bad," Cat Noir said, realizing his mistake.
"Ugh. Super incompetent, you mean," Chloé scoffed.
"Oh, do shut up," Cat Noir said in annoyance.
"Ugh! You wanted the cavalry? Well, here it is!" Stoneheart proudly declared as the stonehearts ran amok and surrounded Cat Noir. "Seize him!" Stoneheart commanded.
But Cat Noir dodged them thanks to Mylène's "Watch out!"
Stoneheart walked off with Mylène asking, "Ivan! Where are we going?"
"To deliver a message. Then we'll be brought together forever by a pretty black butterfly," Stoneheart answered.
"Ugh. All this lovey-dovey stuff is making me sick," Chloé complained.
"Oh, don't worry, little monster. I'm gonna take good care of you, too," Stoneheart told her threateningly which made Chloé whimper.
Meanwhile, Alya was running to where the Stonehearts and Cat Noir were battling.
"If you can hear me, Ladybug, I could use a little help!" Cat Noir shouted.
"What's she waiting for?" Alya wondered under her breath.
Meanwhile, Marinette saw the stone beings. One of them knocked over a car and it was about to hit Alya, but Cat Noir threw his staff to save her. Unfortunately the car crashed through the windows of Marinette's home which then got Alya trapped. A stone being kidnapped Cat Noir.
"Let me go, you damn rockhead!" Cat Noir shouted at the stone being.
"HELP!!" Alya screamed.
Marinette's mind, which had been flip-flopping on the responsibility of Ladybug suddenly settled on a decision, the fact that nobody would ever be Ladybug like she was, the fact that she WAS Ladybug! Marinette was filled with the familiar feeling of courage. She got the case out of Alya's bag and put on the Miraculous. Then, Tikki appeared, happy to see Marinette again.
Tikki raised her arms as she let out an "Mmmm!"
"I really need Ladybug!" Marinette said to the kwami.
"I knew you would come around! Just like your sister said!" Tikki exclaimed in joy.
"Well, let's do this, Alya's in danger. I can't just sit back and do nothing. Somebody has to help! I’ll have to thank Bridge and her ahoge later. Tikki, spots on! Ha!" Marinette said as she transformed into Ladybug.
Ladybug pulled the car with her yo-yo and Alya was freed from it.
"You're back, I knew you would come Ladybug!" Alya exclaimed.

"You can't stay here. It's too dangerous, Alya," Ladybug told her.
After Alya did what she was told, Ladybug followed the trail of stone beings. Ladybug avoided them and threw Cat Noir's staff back to him.
"Cat Noir! Extend it!" Ladybug shouted to him. He did so and jumped out of the stone being's hand to the ground. Ladybug pulled him to safety causing him to be hanging upside down. "Sorry I was late," she apologized.
"Milady, have I ever told you that you turn my world upside down?" Cat Noir joked.
"Oh, you're quite the jokester, aren't you?" Ladybug flirted, then she saw the Stonehearts closing in, and said, "But your comedic timing needs work. We gotta get out of here!"
"Hey, aren't we going to take care of 'em?" Cat Noir asked.
Ladybug then used her yo-yo as a phone, which showed the news with helicopter footage of the original, to track down Stoneheart. "No. If we wanna save them all, then we go straight to the source. That one!" she told her superhero partner.
Stoneheart was in the Eiffel Tower, with the police surrounding him.
"I demand my daughter's safe return!" André demanded through a megaphone, with wind bristling his now graying blonde hair.
"Daddy!!" Chloé screamed in terror.
"You know what? You're welcome to have her! Huh!" Stoneheart called down to the mayor before throwing Chloé away.
"Help! I promise I'll be nice to everyone, say please and thank you all--" Chloé said in rapid succession before being caught by Ladybug. "I didn't promise," she said to Ladybug mistakenly thinking that the superhero had heard her.
"What?" Ladybug said in confusion as she gently set Chloé down.
Chloé ran to her father and hugged him.
"My little princess…" he said joyfully.
"We're clear to attack!" Roger shouted.
"Wait! No, don't attack them! You know it'll only make it worse!" Ladybug tried telling him.
"I have a new plan, unlike you! Move aside and let the pros do their thing. You've already failed once!" Roger tried ordering her.
Ladybug then felt the familiar feeling of doubt wash over her as she said, "…He's right, you know. If I had captured Stoneheart's akuma the first time around, none of this would’ve happened…"
"No. He's wrong, because without you, she'd (gestured to Chloé) no longer be here. And because without us, they won't make it, and we'll prove that to 'em. Plus, let’s be completely honest here, yesterday was our first time, so we were bound to screw up regardless, because the first day is always rocky, no pun intended. Just trust me on this. Okay?" Cat Noir told her.
"Okay," Ladybug agreed, the feeling of doubt vanishing forever.
Stoneheart suddenly stopped and started coughing and spat out a swarm of akumas that glowed purple and formed Hawk Moth's neon butterfly mask and then a voice spoke from the giant mask; Hawk Moth's to be exact.
