"This school year seems fun!"

Ashton exclaimed while skipping through the hallway. He jumped between the twins and slinged both his arms on their shoulder, smiling ear to ear.

Blair is already ahead of them, leading the group to their next room. Astrid and Vivian talking to Jacqueline.

Vivian is still being cautious with the girl, but nevertheless still gave her the benefit of the doubt after her talk with their teacher. Surprisingly, the grey haired girl is not being hostile towards her and was rather gentle with her approach.

"So, your powers aren't the only one being corrupted? What do you mean by that."

"Yes. Apparently, that's what the research facility had found out about those celestians who were corrupted. Fortunately, there is a treatment for it and I am under recovery."

Jacqueline answered with a polite smile. Vivian observed the girl's mannerisms and way of speaking.
The girl transformed from being aggressive and impulsive to being polite and gentle. She seemed to be open with every question that she has stored within her mind.

"What else does this corruption do to you other than to affect your power?"

Astrid asked cautiously. Her tone having a hint of careness. Indirectly telling the grey haired girl that she's not obliged to answer her if she doesn't want to.

"It also corrupts our mind. Though, it has only happened to us celestians, because abyss's nemesis is my people's power. So I was not quite myself for years being trapped with those rogues."

The polite girl answered meekly. Scratching her nape embarrassingly while stealing glances at the certain brunette.

Vivian finally understood what's happening. She caught the girl stealing gazes at her, and when their eyes met. She smiled reassuringly to her, Jacqueline smiled back and the heave weight on her chest finally easing up.

"We're here."

Blaire declared their arrival on their destination.

"Do you guys smell something?"

Fiona commented. Her nose crunching up by the stench she's smelling, Felix is also uncomfortably shifting and constantly rubbing his nose. The group became aware that something must've been going on.

"I hear a sizzling sound, but not in like a cooking way. But something is like melting."

Ashton backed up his friends. They then started to look around outside the door.

"What's up with these?"

Ashton asked when he approached the door. He tapped the mechanism on the device that allows them to open the metal door. However, it is covered with another type of mechanism.

"Don't touch it."

The whole group turned their attention to the sudden voice behind them. Astrid flinched as she is the one closest to where the voice are.

They were completely caught off guard as person blended well within the dark corner of the hallway.

A girl with a piercing black eyes, and pitch black here came into there view when she finally walked to somewhere where there's a light seeping from their technologies.

"I tried to ruin it with my ability. It's poison so please don't."

Ashton frantically shook his hands, luckily he didn't touch the part that was already dripping with some kind of liquid.

"What's the mechanism's purpose?"

Blair asked the black haired girl. The girl smirked at her, knowing that she had finally encountered someone on her level.
