My mouth dropped open once I heard who he was. I immediately stood up from the stool and saluted him like we had been taught in training. "Sir! This is such an honor!" Levi smirked and waved his hand back towards the stool. "Sit down Jaeger." He said cooly. Then his face twisted into something more sinister. "Don't call me sir. Not tonight," I gasped, the chill of his voice scaring me.
Then his face went back to trying to smile, and yet again failing miserably. "So, what brings you to the bar? Aren't you a little young?" he said, this time sipping his drink. I took a swig out of my beer before I answered him. "It's Armin's 21st birthday and we came to celebrate. I'm old enough to be here si- Levi." I responded, catching myself before I finished the word sir.
"In that case, why don't you have a real drink?" he said and called out to the bartender. "Two shots straight from the bottle!" I felt myself admiring the way his voice carried easily across the room, the way a leader sounded. "Don't worry, it's on me," he said patting my shoulder. "Thank you Levi," I said as the bartender handed me the shot glass. I put it to my mouth and started to slowly sip it. Levi grunted and put his hand on the bottom of the glass pushing it up, making me chug it. I started coughing when the alcohol started to puddle on the back of my tongue.
"Not used to the hard stuff yet huh," Levi said and swallowed his shot. I shook my head, I was already feeling dizzy. I felt a hand on my shoulder. Thinking it was Levi again, I felt my face blush once more. Turning to look at the hand and then looking up I saw it was not Levi, but Armin. He was looking at Levi accusingly and putting himself between us.
"Oh! Armin! This is Capt- captain Levi!" I said, realizing my words sounded kind of blurry. "The head of the Scout Regiment! Such a hero!" I said and I clapped Levi on the back. He was looking at me inquisitively, probably wondering how the alcohol had taken effect so fast. "Eren, everyone is leaving. Are you ready to go?" he asked, ignoring Levi. "No, I think I want to talk to Levi for a while. I will catch a taxi later if you decide to leave." "Are you sure? Maybe we should get you home now, you're slurring your words." "No, no I want to stay."
