In the morning, the elf helped his friends pack for the road and did not take his eyes off their disappearing silhouettes until they left the city. Eugene found it difficult to let Lydia out of his arms, and that scene made Nestor's delicate nature tremble. The guy still had a battered bow, a quiver with a dozen arrows, a small blade that he hid under his shirt, and one small potion that heals wounds.

During the first days of proud solitude, the elf managed to wander around the city and help a couple of locals, and then hunt hares in the area. Returning to the residential buildings with a fresh catch, he accidentally brushed his shoulder against a girl passing by – it was a tall lyre with a short haircut, carrying a bunch of various bottles in her hands.

"I beg your pardon," Nestor bowed to the lady.

She grinned, a lock of brown hair falling over her eyes.

"You have nothing to worry about, I'm fine"

"Perhaps I can offer you some help?" He nodded at the other woman's busy palms.

"Thank you, but I have already come to the place I need," the girl climbed the step of the nearest house," I'm taking this to my magic shop.

"Do you run a magic shop? How charming"

"Come back as soon as you have time"

When the girl was about to go inside, Nestor jumped up to her, holding the door:

"Allow me"

"Really, you are very kind"

"Would you have time to give me a tour of your store right now?"

They went inside. It was a small room with a living room on the second floor. Several bookcases filled from top to bottom with potion ingredients, as well as various containers and special magical robes.

"Don't you have any business right now?"

"Oh, no.... In fact, I'm staying here waiting for my friends. They left the city a few days ago. We agreed to return in a couple of moons"

"And how many friends do you have? And where did they go, if it's not a secret?"

She put her belongings on the counter.

"No, it's not a secret ... " the elf looked at the interlocutor expectantly.

"Sage," she hastened to introduce herself and held out her hand.

"Nestor, I am very glad to meet you"

"And so am I."

"There are only four of them. We met when they were in Alvia..."

"Alvia ...?"

The elf began to explain:

"Oh, yes, this is the former name of Eliv"

"That's right, I completely forgot that there was another name before..."

"Queen Erica thought that it would be easier for strangers to understand what they were talking about"

"Queen Erica is a great ruler"

Nestor was very flattered that Sage was so reverent about the culture of his lands.

The girl stepped aside and pulled out a chair for the guest, located next to a small table:

"Please sit down while you tell your story. I'll sort out my goods"

"Thank you..."

"So what were your friends doing in Eliv?"

"They were traveling. In fact, they all come from here, from Lydia. Five years ago, two of them, a brother and a sister, lost their parents"
