Celina had just moved in with Lucy. It was her birthday, and they had planned to go for a little dinner after Celina used her "bathbomb." Or better, Celina had booked it and told Lucy to go there. She had invited everyone well, expect Tim, of course. Celina felt bad for Lucy and was sad how her aura had changed since they met.
Because it had been a bright yellow. All friendly and open and happy, but now, it was dark blue. Mostly sad and silent. She missed the P2 she had met a year ago. The smiles, the jokes, her laugh, and she missed how she couldn't stop talking about Tim with that special kind of spark in her eyes.
When she got out of the bathtub, she heard sniffles coming from the sofa. It was obvious who it would be, so she wasn't surprised to find Lucy curled up there, crying.
Celina didn't quite know what to do. She hadn't known Lucy for too long and not too well either. Of course, they were a few things, like that she had been abducted, parts of Tim and hers story, that she just hadn't become a detective because Primm was an ass.
"Hey, what happened?"
"He told me that it was worth the risk."
"Huh?"
Celina was a little confused when that was the first thing Lucy mumbled after a while.
"I told him that I would ruin the most important relationship in my life if Tim and I didn't work out. He told me it was worth the risk. And now? It wasn't or? I have no idea..."
Lucy's sobbs took over, and she was simply hugged by Celina. A good feeling how she found. Comforting.
Just as Celina was finished to think about what to say, Lucy felt a wave of nausea washing over her. She loosened herself from their hug and ran straight to the toilet.
She threw up surely her last three meals and felt utterly disgusted by herself. Sure, Celina was disgusted by her, too. Just like her parents had been when she had thrown up. Just like everyone.
Because of that, it surprised her even more when she felt a warm hand rubbing circles on her back and the other holding her hair.
"You don't have to do that."
Lucy managed to croak out.
"Oh, it's ok."
She was surprised by how easily the words slipped from Celinas tongue.
After a while, Lucy hadn't thrown up for ten minutes, and Celina slowly let go of Lucy's hair.
"What caused it?"
Lucy had to think. She wasn't feeling sick in other ways. Ok, maybe she was. She hadn't stepped well for the past few weeks, so the tiredness was killing her. There had been an ache in her back for quite a time now and sometimes a little nausess, too. She hadn't puked, though. Was her period coming, maybe? The symptoms would match. She counted back in her head and frowned. Eight weeks ago? It was late. It had never been late. Despite after, she had been kidnapped by Caleb. It hadn't come there for four months. But after it, it had always been on time. Exactly 23 days apart.
"I'm late."
It came out barely above a whisper. Celina needed a few seconds before the only thing that slipped out was an
"Oh."
Celina thought about what ro do for a moment. She wanted to be helpful for Lucy to support her. Wait, she was late, she hadn't said that she was pregnant l. Now, she knew what to do.
"Should I go and buy a test? Maybe a little bit of ice cream and something against the nausea?"
Lucy gave her a thankful nod. She assured Celina that the wave was over and got up as she stumbled a little. Celina caught her just in time.
"Hey, you alright?"
"Just a little dizzy... probably from throwing up... There wasn't much time for lunch, and I just wanted to make dinner."
"Ok, then let's get something into your stomach."
Lucy agreed with a faint jod. Then Celina helped her onto the couch and started to make light food for her, with the hope that Lucy would keep it in. When they finished eating, Celina couldn't help but ask why she had been crying.
"Kojo made me a birthday card."
Lucy was sniffeling again, and Celina was confused. Did she have to understand that? But when Lucy showed her the card, it was obvious.
"I miss him."
To hear that was one thing, but to hear it Lucy saying like that, still sobbing, her voice weak from throwing up, she sounded so incredibly sad and helpless. So desperately needing. So broken. Celina sighed as she hugged her for a while. Then, she pulled away to get the pregnancy test for Lucy.
Wait, when did she have her last period? No, no, no! That wasn't possible. It couldn't already be six weeks. No, that would be stupid. She didn't even have sex. Or wait. That time around-no! She decided that the one night stand with Aaron she had after the wedding night wasn't causing her late period. It wasn't.
When she came into the pharmacy and bought all the stuff, she understood why the cashier looked at her a little strange. She had bought ten pregnancy tests. But she was just making sure, right? Also, it was for two people, so who could blame her?
Arriving home, Lucy wasn't the only one nervous. Both women were wrecks inside when Celina pulled out the bunch of pregnancy tests, nausea blockers, four different flavors of chocolate, three different sodas, and two bags of chips.
"I'm a stress-eater."
Was Celinas explanation. Why was she stressing? Lucy could be pregnant. But Lucy's eyes had actually gone wide because of the sum of pregnancy tests spread across their kitchen counter. But she really hadn't the nerve for that now.
Both women walked into the bathroom with a pregnancy test in their hands. There it hit Lucy.
"Are you kidding me?"
"Hm?"
"Are those for you, too?"
The silence plus the mild embarrassed blush from Celinas' side were answer enough for Lucy to know it meant yes.
"Ready?"
"Nope, I can't do this. I won't. That's I'm sure not pregnant."
Celina tried to talk herself out of it, and, to her surprise, didn't fail.
"Good, then we don't do it."
But both of them knew this wasn't a possible solution. After a lot of ramblin and crying and a lot of emotions, they decided what to do.

It had been a long and exhausting day. Angela wouldn't say that she was happy when she had gotten a text that Lucy's birthday dinner was canceled, but let's say she appreciated the time to rest.
But that would hardly fail. Because after two hours of sleep, she got a call at 1 am. Who the hell was calling her to that time? Without looking onto the display, too tired, she answered the phone, but was fast awake when she heard sniffles from the other end of the line.
"Angela?"
Lucy.
"You have to come, please."
Celina.
Both of them, crying. What the fuck was going on there?
