It was a typical day at Springdale college, with students rushing to their lockers between classes, chatting with friends, and trying to avoid the cafeteria food. Among them were two 7th graders, Juliet and Niles, who had never really paid attention to each other until one day when Juliet started dating Nils's best friend, Levi.

Juliet was a new student in town, having just moved from the city. She was shy and reserved but had quickly made a few friends at school. Levi, on the other hand, was the popular kid who always seemed to know everyone's name and was part of the "cool crowd." Niles, Levi's best friend since the 5th grade, was more laid-back and preferred to keep to himself.

As Juliet started dating Levi, Niles couldn't help but notice how much attention she was getting from his friend. He didn't think much of it at first, assuming that Juliet was just another girl who was drawn to Levi's charming personality. But as the weeks went by, Niles started to notice that Juliet and Levi were inseparable. They would sit together at lunch, laugh together in class, and even hold hands in the hallway.

Niles couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy every time he saw them together. He had always thought of Juliet as just another student at school, but now he couldn't help but wonder what she saw in Levi. Niles tried to brush off his feelings, telling himself that he wasn't interested in popular girls anyway.

But little did anyone know. Juliet wasn't really interested in Levi either. She had initially been attracted to Niles's quiet confidence and kind eyes, but when she found out that he had a crush on her best friend, Sophia, she decided to go for Levi instead. She thought that dating his friend would distract her from her feelings for Niles and allow her to get over him.

As the weeks turned into months, Juliet found herself growing more and more uncomfortable in her relationship with Levi. He was nice enough, but she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was just going through the motions. Meanwhile, Niles continued to watch Juliet from afar, still trying to process his mixed emotions.

One day, during lunchtime in the cafeteria, Juliet sat alone at a table, staring blankly at her phone. Niles noticed her sitting there and decided to take a chance. He walked over to her table and asked if he could join her. To his surprise, Juliet agreed.

They started talking about their favorite TV shows and movies, and Niles discovered that they had a lot more in common than he thought. For the first time in months, Juliet felt like she could be herself around someone without pretending to be someone she wasn't.

As they parted ways after lunch, Niles realized that he had been wrong about Juliet all along. She wasn't just some popular girl who dated his friend for attention; she was kind, funny, and interesting. And as for Levi? Well, let's just say that he was relieved when Juliet broke up with him soon after.

As for Niles and Juliet? Well, they started dating soon after their chance encounter at lunch. They kept their relationship a secret at first, not wanting to ruin things with their friends or make things awkward.

In the end, it turned out that sometimes things work out better than we plan them out. Who knew that getting rejected by his crush would lead Niles to find someone even better suited for him?

As the weeks went by, Niles and Juliet's relationship blossomed. They would spend hours talking on the phone, going on long walks, and exploring the town together. Niles was amazed at how much he had missed out on getting to know Juliet before she started dating Levi.

One day, as they were sitting in the park, Juliet turned to Niles and said, "I'm so glad I had a chance with you. I never thought I'd find someone like you."

Niles smiled, feeling his heart skip a beat. "I know exactly what you mean," he said. "I thought I was stuck with just being friends with Levi, but then you came along and showed me that there's so much more out there."
