"You should do something about it, mate, or it will eat you alive."

"Are you dressed yet?" a voice called from behind the front door leading into Alira's house. Tar, of course, immediately began barking and jumping around because he recognized within a few seconds to whom the voice belonged. He wasn't the only one, as Alira herself knew who was standing at her door. She would have to be foolish not to recognize it since she had been talking with this person almost every minute of the day in recent days—they were only a few meters apart at work and often shouted things at each other, entertaining the visitors.
Daniel Ricciardo started taking care of the penguins three days ago, and since then, he has been the star of the zoo. He learned what to say about them in one evening, even finding some facts that weren't in the papers, and he adds a touch of his incredible humor that everyone loves. He and Alira even started a little war at work, entertaining not only the visitors but also other keepers, who sometimes just had to come and see what was happening. A blackboard with a few white chalks was placed between the penguin and lemur enclosures, and people could vote on which animal they liked better. The pair would then occasionally say something funny, trying to outdo each other and constantly talking to visitors when they noticed them approaching the board.
Alira may never have been a professional athlete, but that didn't change the fact that she hated losing. At the end of the day, it was always decided who won, and the loser had to buy dinner for the winner—Alira suggested this bet just as a joke, but Daniel agreed that it was a good idea. The girl ended up liking it and didn't complain because it meant they always had dinner together, so they could see each other outside of work. And the brunette wouldn't refuse to see a highly attractive brunet outside of working hours.
"You know you can knock, I'll open the door and you can verify if I'm dressed that way," Alira said as she opened the door—of course, she wasn't dressed yet. She was still wearing her pajamas, which consisted of loose black cotton shorts and a light blue fitted tank top that clung to her slender and toned figure—Daniel noticed this immediately but tried to ignore it, otherwise, he would start blushing like a thirteen-year-old boy when a pretty girl at school tells him he looks nice that day.
"That wouldn't be fun," Daniel laughed, walked past the girl, and naturally sat down in the hallway so Tar could run up to him and get petted. Alira rolled her eyes but laughed because she couldn't believe her own dog betrayed her this way. She had taken care of him for so many years, but a few minutes with Daniel were enough for him to forget his owner—his world from now on was a brunet with curly hair and dark brown eyes.
"I'm going to change, you cuddle with the traitor in the meantime," Alira said and headed to her room. Daniel shouted something after her, but the girl didn't pay attention because she was only thinking about how good the boy looked in that light blue shirt, with three buttons undone, showing a bit of his muscular chest. She was surprised that his chest muscles hadn't disappeared during the time he was just lying in the hospital and couldn't do anything. She would probably be surprised by what Daniel did during that month in the hospital—after all, it's true that you can do abdominal exercises even if your leg hurts. And knowing Daniel, he would do it despite the pain, just to feel like he still had a chance to return to his sport someday.
