You bit your lip as you noticed that Kankri's mood was affected. You might have hurt his feelings or something, and you found herself speaking up quickly. "Wait, where are you going?"

"Oh, I'm just going back to sleep" he smiles. It seems he sticked to your response, that wanted him to stop being... Overwhelming.

You were somewhat relieved to see that he was indeed respecting what you wanted. But at the same time, you're not so sure anymore if you wanted that, you somehow longed to keep talking to Kankri, and feeling all of that nervousness and shyness you were just feeling before. It took you all of your might to speak, shamefully denying your earlier wishes. "Are you... sure you don't want to stay here a bit longer? I... I don't mind"

"I think I've already put you through a lot tonight, little one" he replied quietly, exiting the small kitchen. He felt like you were being nice just for the sake of kindness. But he gets this treatment everyday.

You opened your mouth to speak, but found yourself unable to say a word. Kankri had walked away pretty quickly, leaving you alone in the poorly illuminated kitchen. You felt that pang of guilt once again upon seeing him quietly leave like that, and you were silently cursing yourself for telling Kankri to stop. He was just... Being the sweetest little thing and your own issues protected you of nothing. You groaned, hanging your head low as you bury your fingers in your scalp. "I'm so stupid..."

Kankri's supportive self faltered once he was alone in the hallway, walking to the bedroom. He felt dissapointed, but deep inside convinced himself it needed time to get you to like him. Little did he know. But ayer all, he didn't want to overwhelm you, much less annoy you.

You were now left truly alone in the kitchen. You almost wanted to run after him and ask him to come back. But you stopped yourself from doing that, reminding yourself that you were the one who told Kankri that you wanted him to stop. Despite being the one to ask for that, you actually found yourself feeling strangely disappointed.

It's probably a good idea for you to go back to sleep as well. You leave the kitchen, turning off the lights as you walk by and to the hallway. You glance at the room Kankri is staying in, and force yourself to continue walking. Until you entered the room you picked. Aranea was snoring, but nothing obnoxious. So far, she wouldn't notice you enter so late. You let yourself fall backwards on the bed. You were silently scolding yourself. Why the hell were you feeling like this? Why did you dismiss your own love? Right. Abandonment issues. You're the one who asked Kankri to stop speaking to you in that manner, and a part of you was relieved to see him actually listen, giving her time to fix her shit. So why did you feel so damn disappointed about it for some reason? What was happening to you? This wasn't so bad, you can re take that conversation anytime again... Right? You let out a frustrated quiet sigh and covered your eyes with your arm.

Your thoughts continued to circle around that mess in your head. It didn't help that there was no outside stimulus now. Kankri was no longer there, and everything was quiet and still around you, and that only made the thoughts in your head more clear. You almost wished that Kankri would come back, and continue talking to you in that soothing and kind tone of his, and continuing making you feel all shy and flustered as he said those words.

Kankri was bored, laying on that bed, unable to sleep as he told. He is being introspective, about what happened earlier and how he felt. But as well, he couldn't stop thinking about you, hoping you were alright. Even though he wished he could do more, he knows he will probably make it worse, since you specifically said that you wanted him to stop. And that was fine for him..

Go for him Y/n!

You suddenly felt that rush deep inside again as you thought those words. You wanted to, wanted to do that so badly. But you were also holding yourself back, telling yourself that it was a bad idea, a very bad idea. You felt torn, caught in between those two options. After a few moments of being torn between what to do, you eventually left that bed again and found your feet moving, heading to the door of the Kankri's room.
