Adhikar's Pov
That girl was driving me insane, daring to argue with me? Me?
Adhikar Agnihotri?
How could she speak to me like that?
Dadi is disrupting my peaceful life with that girl.
If I end up marrying her, I swear I'll lose my mind. She's just too much to handle. I won't tolerate her.
"To kaisi lagi Chanda tumhe?" Dadi's voice greeted me as soon as I entered the mansion. She was seated at the dining table, idly twirling her spoon in her plate.
"Bilkul Zaher lagti hai Dadi." I retorted in frustration, and she chuckled.
"Zaher ko Zaher hi katta hai, perfect choice aise hi thodi hai vo meri,"
she said, and I felt even more annoyed.
I shouldn't have argued with her.
After all, she's my grandmother.
She knows exactly how to get under my skin and irritate me to the core.
And true to form, she's chosen a girl for me who's just as aggravating.
That's why she's so thrilled about my impending marriage. Because that girl is just as annoying as her.
✴✴✴
It had been month since that incident, yet my grandmother's daily routine still revolved around irritating me with the name of Chanda - aka Chandrika Mathur.
She never stopped talking about her.
"Chanda this, Chanda that - Chanda, Chanda, Chanda," her incessant chatter grated on my nerves.
I was so damn annoyed with this name, I might start hating the moon after hearing it so many times.
I wished I could just erase that girl from existence so I could live peacefully.
But alas, it seemed impossible.
As long as my oh-so-innocent Grandma was her savior, I had to drop the idea of eliminating her.
So, what could I do to stop this marriage? Think, Adhiraj, think.
You can't let this happen.
Lost in my own thoughts, I barely registered the familiar knock on my cabin door.
There she was again, my grandmother, likely ready to launch into her usual tirade about that infernal Chanda.
Ignoring her entrance, I feigned intense concentration on my work, hoping to deter her from her favorite topic – the girl I despised above all others.
"Adhi," her voice cut through the silence, pulling me reluctantly from my tasks.
With a deep sigh, I finally met her gaze.
"Hmm," I muttered, my response curt and unenthusiastic.
"I want you to marry her as soon as possible," she stated firmly, her words hitting me like a sudden gust of wind, stirring up a storm of frustration within me.
"Dadi, not now. Please, just leave me be, I have mountains of work to tackle," I pleaded, irritation seeping into my tone.
She paused for a moment, her expression softening momentarily before resuming her resolve.
