Chandrika's Pov:-

"Mr. what are you doing here?" I said, slightly pushing him away.

He took a few steps back, realizing the proximity between us.

"I told you I wanted to meet you, but you dared to ignore me," he said through gritted teeth, with visible annoyance.

I couldn't help but smile inwardly, knowing I was getting under his skin.

"I told you I'm busy. I'm not here at the office at this late hour for fun," I replied in a sarcastic tone. 'And on top of that, I'm a writer, not a waiter, Mai aapke orders leti nahi firungi. Samjhe.'

(And on top of that, I'm a writer, not a waiter. I won't be running around taking your orders. Got it?)

"I already told you, don't argue with me," he said, coming closer and holding my jaw.

Damn, that was hot, but I needed to keep my cool.

"I'm not your wife, so stop finding excuses to touch me," I said, slowly jerking his hand away from my jaw.

"But you're too desperate to become one, aren't you?" he said sarcastically, making me chuckle.

He was right, I wanted to be his wife. He was hot, dominant, with that dark, mysterious vibe—perfect for me. But I wasn't going to show him how desperate I was.

"If Dadi Maa insist, Mai gadhey se bhi shadi kar lun. To aap kya cheez ho?."

("I'm ready to marry a donkey if Dadi maa insists me to. So, you're not any special,")

I said, watching his veins pop with anger.

Hot, hot, hot!

My brain screamed, and I bit my lip to hide my smile.

"You're comparing me to a dumbass animal?" he said, taking a step towards me.

I met his gaze with confidence, taking a step towards him.

"No, I'm comparing an animal to a dumbass human," I retorted without thinking.

I knew he could pull his gun out from his waist and shove it into my mouth, shooting all the bullets inside me. But for some reason, *Sigh*

I couldn't stop myself from annoying him, from goading him with my words.

"I'm telling you, Miss Mathur, you're heading to your grave," he said, sliding his hands into his pockets.

I chuckled, lifting my index finger and gently touching his nose before trailing it to his lips.

"If the grave is as hot you," I said, meeting his gaze with a smirk, "I'd be a fool not to step inside." As I finished my sentence, I let my finger trail down to his Adam's apple, which was utterly mesmerizing.

Then, collecting myself, I took a step away from him and walked out of the cabin, needing to breathe properly.

His presence was utterly breathtaking.

Adhikar's Pov

"Such a wide mouth she has, she thinks she can say whatever she wants and annoy me," I muttered to myself, pausing for a moment.
