REVENGE XVI: Blank Card

"You shouldn't do that Zeke." I sounded so calm after that guy 'again' passed by leaving his blank stares on us with his typical hands placing on his pocket. That dark stares of his was too visible kahit na nakasalamin sya. Something's really off with his stares, hindi ko kayang titigan ng matagal like it's screaming in dominance.
   
  
"I just greet him, nothings wrong with that." he fires back like we've never heard that loud impact of his slap.
  
 
"You just slapped him" he then just laughed like he's really having fun from what he did.
   
 
"Are you into that shit? Bro, you're acting like his boyfriend defending him" they all roared in laughter as I only looked from where that guy passed.
 
 
"You know what will happen if nalaman to ng Dean, specially the last thing you did." I gave him a threatening stares cause what he did this passed few weeks is really a serious one. Nalaman ko na lahat ng pinag-ga-ga-gawa nya including the incident from the track field and damn this guy is such a evil. No wonders he named after that fallen angel Lucifer.
  
  
"You're being paranoid Scud. What's wrong making fun with some of my students here? they're studying here in my realm. What should I do with them i-baby sitt?" He was so unseriously making fun of everything we said kaya napailing nalang akong tinuloy ang paglalakad namin. I don't really know what was the deal between him and with that guy.
 
 
I can hear them all laughing from a distance so I tilted my head and raised my middle finger with them. Ang hirap pag ikaw lang ang matino sa grupo.
 
 
After we finished our meal we all decided to head at the headquarters to kill time before our next classes. Luffer, Kian, Gray and August taking is Civil Engineering including me kaya most of the time kami lagi ang magkakasama while the others has their own schedule kaya minsan lang nagtutugma na may ganito kaming time para magkasama-sama.
 
 
"If you were there last night Zeke, you would definitely laugh hard watching them running scared hahahaha" I was too occupied to focused of what they are talking to dahil tahimik lang akong nakasunod sakanila.
 
 
"Is that the group they said to be a big threat? Eh grabi yung takbo nila kagabi" August added as they are still making the entire hall fill with their laughters.
 

"They must be called Low Cards not High Cards hahahaha" as soon as I heard that name, I started to have an interest with their conversation. This can't be. Imposibleng yung tinutukuy nilang kikitain nila kagabi is the High Cards. That's too impossible for that elusive group na magpakita lang ng basta-basta.
   
    
I heard about them but their identity is still unknown, walang nakaka-alam kung ilan or even how they work underground. But one thing I'm sure about na naging dahilan ng pagkabuo ng malaking kuryusidad sakin, that Queen of Spade we've found on the shattered car of Luffer, it's belong to one of them.
 
  
"No you might be mistaken about them---" we looked at Reeve who seems so serious crossing his arms.
 

"--it's not how they work" we are all invested about Reeve's about to spill. He might know something about that group existence.
 
 
"--i heard some information about them. And yeah, they are a threatening one. They never seen in underground battles but they're know among all of the underground groups as the killer cards." a moment of deafening silence covered the entire hall as Reeve continued.
   
   
"And a lot of rumors spreading that one of them is the son of the Japan's Defense Chairman Commander. Remember the 31 planted bomb incident sa Headquarters ng Eyes of Crow." he looked at each of us na parang may tinutumbok sa kwento nya.
 
 
"The incident that destroyed almost the entire of their HQ? Yung pitong bomba lang ang na diffused nila?" Theodore uttered in the conversation.
 
 
"Yes and guess who's behind that, it was the High Cards. They plan---" naputol ang sana'y sasabihin ni Reeve as Skye interrupt him.
 
 
"Uhmm...guys, did someone of you ordered something?" I guess we are all puzzled what Skye said as we faced where he's looking at, and a black silver lined box caught all our attention placed outside the doorway of the headquarter.
 
 
Zeke immediately rushed towards that box habang kami'y nagtataka ding sumunod sakanya. I looked at Luffer's hand holding the box and it seems so very familiar to me, parang nakita ko na yan kung saan.
    
   
I'm still figuring it out where did I seen that box as Zeke slowly opens it revealing a black and red plain card placed in a black silk fabric.
 

Until a glimpse of image flashes on my head where we are all on the parking space of the group kung saan nawasak ang sasakyan ni Luffer. Tama yan yun. It was the same box and a same size of card ang hawak hawak ngayon ni Zeke but this time is just a blank colored card.
 

We all looked at Zeke who seems so puzzled looking at the card he's holding. A Queen of Spades and now a Blank Red and Black Card. A playing Cards?
 
 
"High Cards huh?" Zeke printed a leering expression all over his face like he's just invited to play something fun kaya nagkatinginan lang kaming lahat knowing Luffer won't make this slide.
 
  
"Dan, you know what to do." the dominant tone of his voice made us all shut dahil alam naming he's so pissed as of this moment. Of all the things he hates is the feeling of being played by someone, yet he's also have that trait of making fun of someone.
  
 
"I'll burned that shit alive"

Mabilis na natapos ang buong araw as we're all distracted about what happened a while ago, buong araw kaming nasa HQ just to investigate who sent that box from the headquarters doorway through the surveillances along the entire Media Arts Building. 
  
 
But we all just ended up looking for nothing, as it seems that the surveillances were also been corrupted making Zeke so frustrated even up to this moment. And guess what, they're all still at the headquarters recovering the lost data footages.
 
 
I got a call from my mom that I should go home early cause we're having a dinner outside the city. I informed Zeke that i'll be going first but then I just got nothing kaya umalis na'ko. Silence means yes right?
 
 
Nang makalabas ako ng Media Arts Building. I was now heading along the Architecture building malapit sa track field where I see some students na mangilanngilan nalang din dahil sa nag-aagawang dilim at liwanag.
 

I was busy texting my mom to inform her i'm on my way home but a sudden figure of a person caught my attention walking alone the green field.
 
 
I even walk fast just to confirm kung sino yun and I was right it was him. The guy that Zeke slapped kaninang umaga.
 
 
As my curiosity hits me I followed him like a psycho stalker watching him from a distance. Para syang balisa sa paraan ng paglalakad nya as he's only looking downward.
 

He suddenly stop in the middle of the track and I was confused when he raised his head and roamed his sight around but without looking at his back where I'm standing at.
 

I was asking myself what is he doing in the middle of this track field but then some sort of memories flashes through my brain as this is the field where he encounter Luffer and the other na pinagkatuwaan sya.
 
 
Shit hindi naman ako ang gumawa nun but why do I feel na may kasalanan din ako. And without thinking I only found myself walking towards him like my feet have its own conscious.
 
 
As soon as I was near him a soft sweet scent of mallows lingers in my pointed nose, I've never been this too closes from him and damn he has a taste on perfumes. I do have a broad knowledge about different perfumes since Demetri's name runs through my blood but I've never get a whiff of this kind of fragrance. His scent is unique and quiet addictive, I wonder if it's his perfume or just his normal body scent.
  
  
Hindi naman nya naramdaman ang paglapit ko so I cleared my throat getting his attention and I was successful when he faced me with that dark aura of his.
 
 
Hindi ko din alam kung ba't ko sya nilapitan, it feels like I need to apologize on behalf of Zeke. I cleared my throat for the second time around but then his stares was too intimidating to look at.
 
 
"I-i'm sorry for what Luffer did a while ago." shit why do I'm a stuttering?
 

It's takes me a couple of seconds waiting him to response but then there he go again with his habit placing his hands inside the pocket of his pants making it him more screaming in dominance.
 

"I'm Scud by the way" I tried to lift up the mood  between us but then he's still there doing/saying nothing.
 
 
I even offered my hand for a shake hands and smile just to break the tension/awkwardness blanketing us and that's it walang nangyari. Kaya binawi ko nalang yung kamay ko and caress my nape just to ease the awkward gesture I made.
 
 
He faced his back on me leaving me here like a stupid shit kaya halos mapahilamos ako ng mukha ko watching him walking like nothing's happened. At least you apologize Scud.
