Still, she suffered from the trauma that resided in her as a result of her parents' tragic deaths and everything that followed them, which affected every aspect of her life. No matter where she was or who she was with, she was always expecting everyone to either turn on her or leave her. So, after a while, Kay learned to never trust anyone. She was content with only having Aaron and Haley Hotchner in her corner.
But after getting the opportunity of a lifetime to join Aaron at the BAU, all of her plans to be alone for the rest of eternity crumble. Being forced to push her fear of loss to the bottom of her stomach, Kay takes on a new life, one enveloped in happiness—temporary happiness.

- the only storylines that belong to me are ones involving Kay and any other original characters i introduce into this story, in addition to any involving either of Kay's love interests and the Hotchner family. all the respective characters & storylines of Criminal Minds belong to their writers!
AUTHOR'S NOTES!
- i will be sharing a new cast list at the beginning of every act! this is in case i decide to use a new face claim for Kay, for all of the characters that will be introduced in future acts, and to share new quotes because that is one of my favorite parts of the pre-writing process!
- there won't be any custom cases in this story. all cases will have already been shown on the show! that being said, there will still be custom chapters if i want a scenario to play out but it wouldn't make sense to put it into an already existent chapter.
- Kay is a lesbian so please, don't ship her with any men (especially Aaron Hotchner because that man is literally her father figure!) and if you do, don't have any hopes for them to get together. my lesbian heart is incapable of writing a (surviving, until the end BS) straight couple.
- finally, i know this OC with dead parents and Aaron Hotchner as their surrogate father trope is overused (and overhated) but after writing two not-so-cliché stories, i felt like going back to my roots (nobody find my account from 2016 with all the clichés, it is TRAUMATIZING (just like Kay's past))
