VACATIONS ARE A LARGE TABOO FOR FBI AGENTS. Even when they're on vacation, they're still thinking about work, whether it be a pre-existing case or a possibly impending case. And while the agents at the BAU had all been granted two weeks of vacation recently, they weren't all planning to spend it wisely. Some agents, namely Reid and Sinclair, didn't utilize this vacation time and instead went on otherwise perfidious and unforthcoming ventures, while other agents like Morgan and Greenaway decided to use this time to go on an actual vacation.

Kay didn't like the idea of her girlfriend being away from her for the entirety of two weeks, but she knew it was for the best. She wouldn't bring Elle with her where she was going anyway. Still, she had many worries, voicing them all to Derek in preparation.

"What are the crime rates like at this resort?" Kay's hands were clamped onto her lover's waist, her eyes buggish as she glanced at Derek. "Any shootings in the last ten years? Robberies?"

"Relax, Barbie, you girl will be fine," Derek teased as he draped his arms around the two women's shoulders. "And I understand worry, but I mean, crime rates? Shootings? At a luxury resort? God, Barbie, you worry way too much. It's a miracle that you're taking a load off, too."

Right. A load off. That's what Kay was doing, taking a load off. Not traveling cross-country to deliver the worst possible news imaginable to herself.

"Oh, there he is! Pretty boy." Derek indicated Spencer's entrance, straying from the two lovers and instead going to sit on Spencer's desk as the genius packed up. "Last chance. I can get my man to swing you a hotel room for practically nothing. Even you might get a little lovin' out there."
