For the next two weeks, Moriya waited to hear something from the Cullens. She hoped they would kill the nomads but didn't even do anything about them. Meanwhile, she got new feelings every day. And she grew angry. An angry witch wasn't the easiest to be around. She'd have nothing if not for her children.
It was because of her children that she was spending time with Esme and Rosalie. And to get more information on what they were planning on doing about the nomads. "Thank you for inviting us over," Esme said as she walked in and looked around, "It's so cozy."
"I know. It is the most homey place I've ever lived," Moriya said as they went to sit in the living room. Rosalie saw Clair, Charlie and Cris all there. Clair walked over to Rosalie.
"You are very pretty," Clair told her.
"So are you," Rosalie responded.
"Do you want to see my books?"
"Sure," Rosalie told her and the almost five year old led her away.
Esme sat at the dining room table with Morgan, "I wanted to let you know that Carlisle is still deciding what to do about those nomads. He's a pacifist." Moriya barely kept herself from rolling her eyes.
"Then he needs to figure out a way to handle it without violence. Absolute? Or Conditional?"
"Well obviously as vampires,"
"Okay, so selective," Moriya said, trying not to be rude, "He should tell them to leave town. Leave the state. Then I will be okay. But it is not okay to allow them to continue killing in our home."
"I've expressed as such. My son, Jasper, he wants to hunt them down. Emmett and Rosalie too. Alice thinks more like Carlisle. That her abilities might be able to save the people of Forks."
"But it hasn't so far. She needs to always keep looking for them. Look for their decisions."
"I will let them know." Moriya nodded.
"So do you have any ideas for my home or is it under your abilities? I understand if it is. I've seen your home. It is immaculate."
"I do have some ideas. I have very well planned out children rooms."
"I'd love to see that," Moriya said then looked ot the door, "Bella will be home momentarily." Bella did walk in less than a minute later. Rosalie was on the floor playing with Cristalin.
"What is happening?" Bella muttered but everyone heard her.
"Bella," Moriya stood up, "This is Esme Cullen and you probably know Rosalie."
"From school, yeah," Bella said, trying to sound cool
"Bella, we have a doctor's appointment on Thursday. Would you be able to watch the girls?"
"No, I can't." Moriya didn't need further explanation. Because she knew Bella would say no but something else would happen next.
"I wouldn't mind watching them," Rosalie said from the floor. Moriya looked down and smiled at the vampire. She knew her children would be safe. Rosalie had excellent control and liked children.
"Oh, that would be very nice of you. Are you sure?" Moriya asked and Rosalie nodded quickly.
"Rose has always liked children," Esme told Moriya.
"Well then thank you. I will be happy for the help."
"We can play tea party," Clair said.
"Well I'm great at that."
"Bella dinner will be ready in an hour or so," Moriya said as Bella began to walk away. She didn't say anything.
"Not an easy adjustment?" Esme asked her.
"We're just still adjusting. It's fine." Esme nodded as she stood and Rosalie did too. Moriya knelt next to Clair.
"You can do magic on Thursday as long as Bella isn't around, okay, my little Tabby?" Moriya told her. Clair nodded quickly and excitedly as her eyes lit up.
"I have so much to show you!" Clair said and Rosalie laughed.
"Well I will be happy to see all of it. You have a good night, Clair."
"You too, Rose."
Bella came back into the kitchen when the Cullens left and Moriya could already feel the attitude brewing. "Why didn't you tell me that the Cullens were coming over?" Bella asked and Moriya looked at her confused.
"They just dropped by and I invited them in. But why would it matter?"
"Did they tell you what was wrong with Edward? Or when he'll be back?"
"They have some cousins in Alaska. He will be back soon," she said and Bella nodded, taking in the information. "Why do you care?"
"I just do. What were they doing here?"
"I believe that is my business not yours. But please go wash up. Dinner is ready." Moriya dismissed her.
Moriya spoke to Charlie about Bella after they went to bed that night. "Her obsession has started. She doesn't know what they are yet. But she will soon. He'll tell her. Not technically. But basically. I could try to buy the book she uses but it would barely slow her down." Moriya groaned as she rested her head on her husband's chest.
"What's wrong?"
"She's possibly in mortal danger but what's worse is going to be their behavior. It's so obsessive and weird. And hot and cold. Oh and if they don't get rid of these nomads, forget everything she says to you. She's just being a dick," she said and Charlie's chest vibrated as he chuckled.
"I'm sure it won't be that bad."
"Tell me that in two months," she said.
They left like they planned to that Thursday. Clair was happy to impress someone outside her family with her magic. Rosalie watched with wide eyes as she floated things into the air and Charli used her magic to throw her paints in cool shapes. Then she watched it all fall to the ground as she heard the car approach. Rosalie looked to Clair, "How did you know?"
"Sometimes I know things," she said in a whisper as Bella came in. Clair got up and went to greet Bella at the door. "Hello, Bella. Momma left you a sandwich because she said you need to eat more." Clair continued to rant, as children do, as Bella walked into the kitchen. As soon as she reached the fridge, Bella turned around in a glare.
"Do you ever just shut up?" she shouted at the little girl who got infinitely smaller.
"I-" she tried to explain but she was cut off. Her lip started trembling.
"You know you're just my replacement, right? Do you know the word replacement? It means if I loved Charlie he wouldn't love you." Bella said it with a grin.
"That's not true. Daddy loves all of us!"
"Not if I was still here. Then you'd never be born. And how wonderful would that be?"
"You're mean!" Clair pointed her finger at Bella but Rosalie got there quickly and put Clair's hand down.
"What happened?" Rosalie asked, even though she'd heard everything.
"She's so mean!" Clair cried and Rosalie picked her up, glaring at Bella.
"Kids right?" Bella asked, trying to seem cool. Rosalie rolled her eyes. Bella just left and slammed the door to her basement apartment.
"I should set her on fire but Mommy said no magic," Clair said with a sniffle.
"That's right. You did very well."
