I cross my arms over my chest.
"I asked you who you were, answer me." I growl at him, and he chuckles.
"Now, Ambrosia; is that any way to treat your uncle?" He waves a finger at me. I roll my eyes.
"I only have one uncle and he died years ago. I'm going to give you one more chance to tell me who you are before I call the cops." He grunts and puts his hands in his pockets.
"Your mother never told you about me, did she?" he asks, and I glare at him.
"You are not my uncle; now leave." I grab his shirt and pull him onto the sidewalk behind me. I step up in front of my door.
"I am your uncle. You will find out about me soon enough. Goodnight Ambrosia." He turns around and walks down the sidewalk to the street. I glare at his back as he walks away. I sigh when I can't see him anymore, and turn to go inside.
I walk into the kitchen and pick up my phone from the counter. I quickly call my dad.
"Hello?"
"Dad, did mum have a brother?" I tap my fingers against the counter.
"Ambrosia, what's happened?"
"Some guy was standing in front of our door, and he said he was my uncle. Is he really my uncle?"
"Ambrosia, your mum had a brother; but he was a bad person. Your mum's family disowned him when he nearly killed a man. What did the man you met look like?"
"He was tall. He has buzzed hair, and a scar going from his forehead into his hairline. He has a bit of a limp in his right leg." I hear my dad sigh through the phone.
"That's Richard. Did you see where he went when he left?"
"No, it's too dark. I only saw that he walked down the street to the right." My dad is silent for a minute.
"Sia, I'm coming home as soon as I can. Richard is dangerous. I will call Tommy and tell him to get his boys to look out for you until I return. Lock the doors and windows. Call Sawyer and tell him to lock his doors too, or at least get his mum to. Go to bed; I will see you soon." The line goes dead.
"Love you too, dad," I mutter to myself.
I go around the house and lock anything that has a lock on it. I go up to my room and call Sawyer's house.
"Hello?" I hear Sawyer's mum answer the phone with a groggy voice.
"Hi, Ms. Black, this is Sia. Is Sawyer still awake?"
"Oh, hello Sia. Yes, Sawyer is awake. I will go get him." I hear shuffling from her side of the line, and then murmuring between Ms. Black and Sawyer.
"Ambrosia, are you alright?"
"Sawyer, I ran into my uncle. He is supposed to be dead, or in jail; I don't know. All I know is that he is dangerous, and he knows where I am. I need you and your mum to lock all of your doors and windows. Will you please do that, and then call me in the morning so I know you are alright?" I take a deep breath, and sigh. Sawyer doesn't say anything for a moment, and then I hear him murmur something.
"I just asked my mum to lock everything. We will be alright, but what about you? Ambrosia, your dad is gone; I don't want you to be alone with him running around. " I force a chuckle out.
