Recap
~A light shiver slid its way down his spine and Izuku realized that whomever these mystery strangers were, it was none of his business. Not even if somehow, the entire crown had decided that at the same time, all turning away with slight smiles and momentarily vacant eyes- after all, they were just normal people.~

The momentary distraction managed to knock away his worries for the time being, and Izuku's grin resurfaced- after all, he had a quirk now! Surely he could allow himself a bit of optimism, and if he dies, well at least he dies happy. With rekindled confidence and doubts shifted to the backburner, he stepped onto the campus- and a rapidly heating palm settled itself over the shoulder of his blue tracksuit.
He froze as soft, ashy blonde hair tickled his cheek and the familiar scent of nitroglycerine and caramelized sugar assaulted his senses. Kacchan really had grown since high school, controlling his quirk so smoothly that he could manage the perfect temperature- a heat, that while refraining from singeing the fabric of his clothes and leaving a visible mark, was still stiflingly hot with the promise of worse if aggravated.
Hot breath hit his neck as the larger boy tightened his grip,
"Deku"
The word was practically whispered but Izuku heard it as if it was yelled through a speakerphone directly into his ear.
"Why, I wonder, is a waste like you blocking the way here of all places?"
The thinly veiled threat rang through like the tongue of a serpent, its fangs injecting icy poison directly into his bloodstream and freezing his muscles so tight they ached.
"Ehm..."
Bakugo let slip a dark growl behind him before letting his hand slide off of Izuku's shoulder, pushing him to the side roughly, muttering under his breath.
"Dumbfuck quirkless"
Izuku stayed, unmoving until the wild hair had long disappeared from sight. He stumbled back, catching himself as he ran a calloused hand through his utterly untameable viridian curls- a shuddering sigh escaping as he realized what had just happened. Don't get him wrong, Izuku knew that his reactions to the other boy were irrational and no doubt stemmed from some sort of deep rooted trauma reaction from their youth that he would have to get rid of if he made it into the hero course- Kacchan obviously would, but that was drastic. Usually, he managed to get through their interactions with relative reactibility on his part, not the absolute terror that took hold of him today. It must have been resulting from his 'post quirk nerves' or something.
Anyways.
Nothing good would come from simply waiting around, and as proven before, plenty bad could- and would. Taking one last breath, Izuku strode forwards- and tripped over his own feet.
'Oh shit.'
Suddenly a slender hand wrapped around his waist in a firm grip, pulling his body to the chest of his savior as another hand steadied his arm, clasped around his wrist.
"Why hello there~"
Izuku's eyes, that had closed tight in the expectancy of a hard, painful, concrete welcome, snapped open at the melodic voice- the smooth baritone echoed in his mind before he registered what had just happened. Whipping his head around to face the stranger, Izuku's eyes widened, his face falling into a gape. The person, for he truly couldn't tell their gender, and he really didn't want to assume either way- was beautiful. Sort of. Their face was, blurred? No, he could see their features, the slanted, fox-like eyes painted in reds and golds, lashes like the wings of a butterfly. Crimson, heart shaped lips with a pronounced cupid's bow and two distinct moles under their left eye. However, despite their beauty, he could only register their face as... well, normal.
"Is there something on my face~?"
The stranger- he really had to get their name- spoke with a teasing lilt to their tone and Izuku scrambled, realizing that he had been staring at a random person and that he had been incredibly rude to someone who had helped him!
"Ah-"
Izuku's features burned red as he realized that he was still in the stranger's arms, in quite an intimate position at that- bordering on an embrace even! In the back of his mind there was a tiny voice speaking his thoughts about how it really would be nice to stay in the protective arms of this stranger, but a much larger part of him remembered to move. Jumping out the stranger's arms and into a perfect 90 degree bow, he practically shouted an apology before startling at his own volume. Cringing in embarrassment, he mumbled another, much quieter apology while drowning in his own mortification- and finding himself immensely grateful for the lack of examinees surrounding them at this point in time as most had already made their ways into the building.
Oh no.
They were going to be late. To the UA entrance exam. Shit. In the midst of his panicking another stranger had walked up to them, moving to stand next to the other, they shared a look- the newer, taller, brunette stranger raising an eyebrow at Izuku's antics. Seeing how worked up he was getting, the blonde stranger stepped closer, placing a gentle, red tipped hand over Izuku's shoulder, grinning.
"Alright, come on. We can do introductions on the way in. Also, the exam doesn't actually start for like, another twenty minutes, people just like to come early."
Letting out a breath, Izuku noticed that the exam really didn't start for a while and grinned sheepishly at the two,
"Ah, Sorry. I must have looked pretty stupid."
They patted his shoulder before drawing their hand back and setting off the main examination building, turning to walk backwards so that they could face Izuku and their friend while talking.
"No worries darling! Everyone gets nervous!"
Their friend sighs as they fall into step next to Izuku, as if exasperated with what was going to come next. Izuku, noticing this, tilts his head in questioning to said stranger, enticing a deadpan response.
"He loves introductions."
Well. That didn't explain much, but at least he knows that the blonde stranger is a guy now- that's better than before. Wait, introductions? The blonde snickered, before violently pointing at Izuku, eliciting a flinch, and booping him on the nose- rapid firing questions.
"Alright! Pronouns, preferred name, sexuality, relationship status, and favorite color, go!"
