"Hey, Lea!" Yoko announced loudly as she entered the room, Bianca trailing behind her. Leanna sprung up from where she was sketching on the couch, a wide smile finding its way across her face when she saw the vampire and the siren. She rushed over to them and pulled each into a hug, which they returned after the slight shock of the force named Leanna.
"Yoko! Bianca!" Leanna giggled like a little girl as she pulled away. Yoko had a grin on her face, and Bianca had one just as big.
"We saw you on Monday, Bean." Bianca laughs. She had earned the nickname for her size, and it's not like her dark brown hair didn't help, either.
"Yeah, what's got you being all bird-like?" Yoko asks once she sat down on the couch, putting her legs in Leanna's lap when the girl followed. Leanna and Bianca both rolled their eyes at the little inside joke.
"Shut up, Tanaka. My wings aren't even out!" Leanna scoffed.
"Well, hurry up and be chirpy then, it will fill in for 'em." Yoko grinned, looking at Leanna from above her sunglasses. Rolling her eyes once more, Leanna took a deep breath.
"Lari- Principal Weems gave me an offer today," She started, piquing the interest of both girls. Bianca raised an eyebrow, gesturing for her to go on. "Well, it was a choice, really. She said if I really wanted, I could move to a normie town, away from all this." She waved her hands around the space to express her point. She didn't go into detail, knowing they knew what she meant. Away from her father. Away from her past. "Or...I could stay here. As a student. She offered me a scholarship!" Leanna's voice got higher as it went. Yoko sat up so quickly her glasses flew off, while Bianca rushed over from her armchair and crouched beside the couch.
"You said yes, right?" Bianca whispered, scared of the answer, even though the girl sounded like it was unlikely that she refused.
"Of course I did! I wouldn't leave you two hanging!" Leanna squealed, and Yoko and Bianca grinned and pulled the kiasu into a hug.
"We love you, Bean. And I mean in a sister way, Yoko." Bianca side-eyed the vampire, who was about to open her mouth to say something.
"Anyways, we need to figure out your back story!" Yoko laid back down again.
"How about...you're my cousin? Not blood related, of course, but by marriage." Bianca offers.
"Hm. That's good, but what if she's my cousin? And I can lend her some of my glasses so she looks vampire-y." Yoko explains, eyes closed. Leanna frowned. These were good explanations, but she needed a perfect excuse. That's when a thought stirred her mind.
"Hey, what if I was Principal Weems' daughter? It would explain me always having to come for a visit, and it would explain me arriving in the middle of the year, for my relation with Larissa. Plus, our names are very similar." Leanna squealed.
"That's an great idea! All we have to do is run it by Weems, and then you can start school!" Yoko exclaimed, sitting up and checking her watch. "Ah, dang it! I'm late to class. Catch you later!" Yoko got up, grabbing her backpack before exiting the office, the door slamming shut behind her. That left Leanna and Bianca.
"I have a free period." Bianca explained when Leanna raised her brow at her, wondering why she hadn't followed the vampire. "Hey, I have an idea! What if I teach you to fence? Then you could join us in class! Wait here, I'll go grab my equipment." Bianca grinned when Leanna nodded eagerly. Bianca always told her about fencing class and how she always won. Noticing that fencing would take up quite a bit of space, Leanna started to clear the middle of the room, moving and rotating the small amount of furniture. Just as she was finishing up, Bianca came back in, a green duffle bag in hand.
