-3rd person POV-

"She's gonna be alright Gus?" Kevin asked, staying at the side of Hailey's medical bed. Kevin, Y/N, and Nokk were in the medical wing, after getting hailey there soundly. As soon as she hit the bed, she passed out, and Doc worked quickly to get her hooked up to life support and an IV. He ran some quick tests as he did all this as well, just to get a read on her stats.

"She'll be fine. Most of what she has is severe exhaustion. Her scans are showing very little rest or sleep activity," the French Doctor mused. "Quite odd indeed,"

"Where did you guys find her?" Y/N asked Nokk.

"Being held by the Whitemask. Who knows what they did," she shuddered at the thought, hugging Y/N a bit tightly. Y/N hugged her back.

"We can say for certain that she'll make a full recovery," Doc informed. "Albeit, slow"

"Why slow?" Kevin asked.

"Exhaustion is a slow recovery process. A lot of rest is needed, I'd say most of the time she should be resting, even asleep," Doc informed. The small group nodded, looking over to where Hailey lay.

"Is it okay if I stayed with her?" Kevin asked. Doc shrugged.

"I don't care. Just don't intervene with medical procedures," he warned. Doc was always very particular with his work, and doesn't like others getting involved much.

"Won't dream of it," he saluted. As Kevin pulled a chair around to sit by Hailey's bed, Nokk pulled Y/N aside, and out of the medical bay. Curious, Y/N looked over to the woman in the veil, and asked what they were doing.

"I just feel like resting," Nokk shrugged, opening the door to the stairwell. "That was a long mission, and I'm feeling pooped, to be honest,"

"Nothing like good old rest...also probably cause it's nearing 4am," Y/N chuckled, earning a tired laugh from Nokk.

"Not wrong," she chuckled, exiting the stairwell. She unlocked the door to their room and stepped in, kicking off her boots at the door. Y/N did the same, grabbing a cup of water from the kitchenette, and getting one for Nokk as well. As he poured, he heard Nokk shuffling through her dresser drawers, grabbing a fresh change of clothes. As she did, Y/N thought about what she had wanted to tell him, prior to her mission. She had sat him down, and it felt like something serious was about to come out of her mouth. He pondered it, topping off their waters before going over and handing hers to her. He nodded, and Y/N sat on the couch, sipping. After a bit, he asked her about what was on his mind.

"Nokk?"

"Hm?" she turned her head, supposedly looking at him.

"Before you left, what were you gonna tell me?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. He heard a sigh come from her, before she set the water down and walked over to him. She walked over to the couch and sat down next to him. Right next to him.

"I...well," she started. It was clear to Y/N that she was nervous about something. He didn't know what, but he also did not want to push anything. Nokk took a deep breath. "I wanted to say, I feel...good around you. Safe, ya know?"

"I'm very glad that you do," Y/N admitted. He was shocked, to say the least, but he was glad that he made her feel safe and secure. Nokk nodded, grabbing hold of her veil in one hand, and Y/N's hand in another.

"I feel...good enough to reveal myself..." she muttered lightly. Y/N, while surprised, picked up on her tone.

"Nokk, if you're still iffy about it, you don't have to," he said soothingly, squeezing her hand. The Dane nodded, shrugging.

"I feel fine with it..." she trailed off, slowly lifting up her veil. Y/N watched as her lips became visible, then her nose and eyes, then her whole face. Y/N had to take a gasping breath as Nokk's veil was tossed aside. She was beautiful.

"Nokk...you're beautiful!" Y/N exclaimed, smiling brightly. This made Nokk blush, looking away slightly and tucking some stray hair behind her ear.

"Thank you Y/N" she smiled. Y/N smiled back and opened his arms out to her, in which she gladly melted into his offered hug. Smiling, she nestled in, as another thought ran through her head. "Y/N?"

"Yeah?"

"I..." she paused, worried about what Y/N might say to her. She wanted to tell him how she really felt, but she found it hard to do. 'It's probably because I've never really liked someone before', she assured herself. With that thought, she just blurted it out. "I really like you Y/N"

"I like you too, Nokk" Y/N nodded, chuckling. Nokk shook her head.

"I mean more than a friend. I like like you"
