A/N: Short, closing chapter. Thank you for reading, and keep an eye out ;)
Sam and Dean tossed their dufflebags into the trunk of the Impala in unison.
"It's just weird that it's over," Dean started, "I mean, that whole case was kind of heavy."
A small smile formed on Sam's lips. "I'm glad that it's over. Now, I don't have to watch all of this sexual tension go down between two people who are afraid to do anything about it."
Dean glared at his brother. "Yeah, now we just have to watch you and Gabe."
A blush crept up Sam's neck, one he really hoped his brother couldn't see.
As Cas walked towards them from the other side of the street, the younger Winchester brother breathed out a sigh of relief.
"How'd it look, Cas?" Dean called.
Once he got close enough to hold Dean's hand, he replied. "It's clean. We got everything."
The two hesitantly let go of each other's hand as they got into the Impala, Sam stretching out in the back. Cas took hold of his hand again, as he watched Dean pull out of the parking lot and onto the main street.
This was a nice town, but Cas never wanted to see it again.
"What's next, Sammy?" Dean questioned, glancing in the rearview at his brother who had his brows furrowed at his computer.
"Looks like a couple vamps up in Massachusetts. Should we head up?"
"Just tell me which direction."
The highway stretched out in front of them, as far as the eye could see. Thick forests on either side, and thicker clouds hanging in the air, threatening to pour.
Sam felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. Pulling it out, Gabriel's name popped up on the screen above the message, "Heard your heading north. See you there ;)" Sam bit his lip to suppress a smile as he slid his phone back in his pocket, catching a glimpse of Dean's eyes looking back at him.
On the long stretch of road, Dean held his angels hand tighter, it acting as an anchor for the Winchester. Throughout the whole case, it was his anchor. He was his anchor. Although he didn't understand everything that had happened in the last few days, one thing he was positive about was Cas.
Castiel repaired him.
