AURELIA"I think you should marry him in all honesty, lia," Maya speaks as she puts a few blueberries in her mouth, looking at me with a mischievous little grin.
My face heats up and I groan, putting my head in my hands as I try to hide myself away from the embarrassment I feel.
"He doesn't like me that way and men scare me! I can just marry you and we can have kitties for babies and I can bake you sweet treats everyday. Don't pawn me off."
Maya throws a pillow at me before falling into a fit of giggles, her laughter filling our apartment up with happiness. "I'm not complaining! But my boyfriend won't approve of that... he's possessive."
"Oh boy do I know it." I'm so glad Maya has someone in her life who loves her and takes care of her, everyone deserves a true, sincere love.
Atticus has been busy recently, our texts not as frequent as they once were. He made sure to reassure me that he was only busy with work and that he would make sure to prioritise me as soon as possible.
I felt weary— hesitant as ever. Though I know better than to let my fears control me and become a slave to them.
Atticus messaged me every morning telling me how he was thinking of me and that he wants me to have a good day.
My heart still ached, however. I wanted to see him and hug him and hold hands.
Clingy Aurelia.
"I'm sleeping over at Thomas' tonight, that ok?" Maya hands me a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, my heart squeezing at her gesture. I love freshly squeezed orange juice.
If orange juice has no fans then I am dead.
"Of course! I can bake cookies for you two before you leave?" Maya didn't sleep over at Thomas'— her boyfriend— often. We honestly spent so much time together that we had become inseparable. I am beyond grateful to have a best friend as sweet and genuine as her.
"Why don't you bake some for Atticus?" She winked at me before grabbing her bag and giving me a hug, her long silver hair flowing down her back as she walking out of our apartment.
