I woke up to the sound of my text tone.
I slid on my glasses.

my clock read 9:32am
I walked into my closet and grabbed a Harvard crewneck and slid into it. Then, I walked downstairs and poured myself a cup of green tea. I checked my Instagram and it wasn't any better then last night. I heard my mom walk in from her morning walk.
"hey honey. good morning!"
"good morning mom."
she kissed my forehead.
"what are your plans for today?"
"I'm going to go the mall with evan"
"you aren't gonna go out with your new boyfriend?"
"first of all, he's not my boyfriend. second of all, probably later."
"okay just text me where you are. I gotta go take a shower."
"k."
I walked onto my porch, which looked out into the ocean, and read my book.
it was 10:04when I decided to go upstairs and start getting ready. I washed my face and brushed my teeth. I took off my glasses and put in my contacts. I walked to my closet and changed into a navy blue tank and lace off white shorts. I sat at my vanity desk and did my normal makeup routine. Then I straightened my hair and did a waterfall braid in it. I spread deodorant on my underarms and slid a gold watch on my wrist, a gold locket around my neck, and a gold ring around my index finger. I sprayed perfume and looked at the time.

I walked downstairs and ate an apple. by the time I was done evan was picking me up. we walked to the outside mall about 5 blocks away.
"so what's up with you and that Hayes dude?"
"I'm not sure. he hasn't texted me today."
"wait so he kissed you and then just ignores you?"
"well no. I haven't texted him so technically he isn't ignoring me."
"well text him."
"why"
"so you can see if he's really ignoring you or not."
"fine. but he's not ignoring me."
"Ryenne. I've heard about this guy around school. he's a player."
"oh yeah how come I've never heard that?"
"because you aren't on the football team. he's been with like 20 girls in the past year. and he's done more than just kiss half of them."
"oh yeah ok. I think if that happened to any girls at school the word would get around."
"that's the thing. they aren't from school."
"then how does he know twenty some girls"
"his brother lives in la. when Hayes goes and visits him he goes to all these parties and girls tend to like him."
"you're just making this up. why would you make this up?"
"I'm not making it up!"
"shut up evan. you just can't stand that something good actually happened to me"
"no that's not it ryenne. just please stay away from Hayes."
"stop. I'm leaving"
I got up and walked all the way home by myself. how could he do this to me?
I called Hayes when I got to my house
"hey babe." Hayes said.
"hey whatcha doing?"
"uh I'm watching tv how bout you?"
"nothing. let's hang."
"sounds good to me."
"awesome. what should we do?"
"let's go canoeing."
"okay cool. I'll be there in 15."
I changed into a blue bandeau bikini top and white bikini bottoms. I put on a pair jean shorts from hollister. I grabbed my sunglasses and my beach bag then headed to Hayes' house.
we walked to the canoeing place and got in a boat.
"just saying I'm not very good at this." he said
"you can't be worse than me."
"wait if we're both bad then this probably isn't going to turn out well."
"well let's just try our best not to tip" I laughed
"yeah I have my phone with me."
"oohh give me it."
he handed me it and I tried to unlock his screen but he had a password. I typed in "Ryenne" and it worked.
"I like your password."
"thanks babe."
I opened his snapchat and took a selfie of us and said "this hottie😍💦" then posted it to his story.
I gave him back his phone and I grabbed my paddle and splashed him.
"shit Ryenne! I have my phone."
"and you're stupid for bringing it"
"well if I didn't then I wouldn't have gotten that sexy pic of you in a bikini"
"shut up" I said blushing and splashing him more.
