when we got to the beach, we set up our towels on the sand and I took off my romper and got out the book I'm reading, "Looking for Alaska" by John green. Hayes was playing on his phone. I soon got really hot.
"I'm gonna go cool off in the water"
I walked into the water all the way til it was knee deep.
"Ryenne?!"
I turned around and saw Jake, one of my best friends who moved when we were six.
"Jaaaaaaakeeee!!" I cried and I ran up and hugged him.
"you look great Ry!" Jake said checking me out.
"As do you." I said. and he really did.
"I got to go but here's my number. give me a call sometime. we could go get coffee or something." he said as he wrote down 10 digits
"great." I took the paper and walked back to Hayes.
"who was that?" he looked jealous and a little mad.
"just an old friend."
"I know what that means."
"what?"
"you're gonna go out with him right?"
"no I told you were just friends." I laughed
he didn't laugh in return.
"I don't think he wants to be just friends."
"how are you so sure about that?"
"I saw the way he looked at you."
"well I don't want to be more than friends with him."
"do you want to be more than friends with me?"
"maybe it depends" I joked.
he kissed me, soft and sweetly.
"now do you want to be more than friends with me."
I kissed him passionately.
"is that a yes?"
"yes." I laughed hitting his shoulder.
