"captain janeway, we didn't expect to here from you so soon" admiral paris said
"we found a potential way home, our host is allowing us to use some of his advanced systems to contact you" janeway said
"i sense a but" the admiral said
"it seems we have three options, we can continue on our course forget we ever saw this man and his vault, we could accept his aid to help us fix our transwarp and slipstream drive, or we could accept everything he has to offer, sir problem number one is the temporal prime directive, our host has told me, we were not supposed to meet him or find this base, and accepting his help will change the future" the captain said, the admiral paused
"i wondered why temporal agents were at my door, one moment captain" he said before muting his side of the channel, he soon returned
"the temporal agents have told me that we aren't changing the future we are creating a brand new one, so you can at least accept the help to get your advanced engine systems working, i assume there's more" the admiral said
"our laws on genetic engineering will also need to at least be changed, if not gotten rid of entirely" the captain said
"his technology requires it" the admiral asked
"some of it, admiral, our host has granted us full access to everything he has, so i am going to send it to you for you to quickly peruse and you can see our predicament" the captain said as she started sending the data, on the things within this vault
as the admiral began to read, his eyes slowly began to widen
"this is........... captain, bring him home, accept whatever you need to, but bring this man, and his resources home, i need to deliver this to the council" the admiral said as he cut the channel
"well that answers that" janeway said
"Mr. potter" janeway called, a moment later i re-entered the room
"i have been ordered, to get you to come with us" she said, my eyebrow raised
"i'm gonna be honest captain i didn't accept that, well i guess the best way would be..... yes, i get to use my gift from Q" i said
"Q gave you a gift" she said
"an old ship from this timeline, that was left abandoned, and purposefully forgotten, it will get us back to the alpha quadrant the fastest, first, captain inform your ship, to transform helm control here for docking" i said, she nodded
"i'll just return to voyager then" she said, i nodded
"that also works" i replied
i moved to the bases command center
"rei, if you would bring the glenn's spore drive back online, set our course for earth" i said
"affirmative commander" she said
"initiate jump when ready, and open a channel with our new friends" i said
"understood, channel open" she said
"just to inform you, the first few times can be a tad jarring, i learned that lesson the hard way" i said
"understood" janeway said
"spore drive standing by, commander" rei said
"go" i said, as the glenn's mycelial spore drive spun up, enhanced by the AT-field of the evangelions and by magic, the entire base, known as artemis jumped
"release voyager" i said
"released and undocked" rei said
"your cleared captain" i said
"thank you, Mr. potter, i have a feeling we will see each other again very soon" she said
"yes, inform starfleet, not to try and take my facility from me i have faced actual military infantry, and my vault is well protected as a result" i said
"understood, voyager out" she said, i sighed
two days later, an excelsior class starship, requested permission to dock which was granted
"welcome to artemis, a base i have artificially expanded using technological and mystical means, i will warn you there are areas that you should not enter without proper protective gear, that said, you have free reign to explore my base as you wish, attempting to try and activate and/or otherwise take things from this facility without my prior authorization will activate this bases security, and you will find i can turn from a pleasant, respectful man, to a cold and ruthless one in a second" i said
"understood, thank you for the warning" he said, i nodded
"it was my pleasure" i said
"Mr. potter, i would like to ask, if we were to change our genetic engineering laws, would you be able to fix our own ineptitudes in that area, i'm afraid that we are quite far behind since the eugenics wars, since we outlawed it" he said
"of course, i will mention, i actually have a plan in place, if you are willing to here it" i said
"it would be my pleasure" he said
"cloning is a capability at my disposal, so i can do one of two things i can create an entire new race of individuals through genetic altering with the capabilities to use everything in this base, or i can create, what we can call dolls for now, which we can then use to interface with the technology at our command, similar to your synths and holograms" i said
"how powerful are you" he asked
"the Q showed up gave me a free starship, and then left as quickly as they were there, and any time a Q has seen me they leave instantly" i said
"are they afraid of you" he asked
"either that or they really respect me, either is possible considering what i have seen and done, and honestly considering all i have heard about a specific member of their people, i will take it" i said
"is there by chance a way we can learn these expansion technologies" he asked, i paused
"yes and no" i said
"what do you mean" he asked
"most of this comes from two places, the BBY-03: ginga, which requires a proper astral body to do this, like a planet or moon, the technology in question actually creates these expansions as a side effect, as it is a terraformation technology, a very powerful one at that" i said
"what's the other" he asked
"my own native powers, and creating something on this scale is extremely strenuous" i said
"i see, unfortunate, but you can expand at small scale" he asked
"oh yes, give me a ship, and every set of crew quarters will be an entire five bedroom house by the time i'm done, though i will say, since i have to do it myself, the bigger the ship the longer that process will take" i said, he nodded his understanding
