•3rd POV•A year wasn't long but ever since Minjeong left Jimin, she's been hard at work because curling up in a bed crying wasn't an option even if she wanted to.
And what she meant by hard at work, was working her ass off.
She decided to take part in work and since it was paying her good money, she thought why not? It's been a few months since she's started and the work was decently hard and what not.
Plus it was a super great distraction.
And today was one of those days she had to work.
She woke up to see the rain scattered outside. It was spring and the rain had been coming more often than usual but it was nice that way.
She stretched for a bit before heading to her closet to grab her work uniform, a simple Black work coat and a pair of black pants that goes along with the shirt.
She got dressed quickly, washed up and walked down the stairs to see no one there. It was still early.
She proceeded to cook myself some sunny side up eggs and some bacon, something simple for the morning. She'll need protein, as Aeri likes to say.
And speaking of Aeri, the sounds of her footsteps pad through the kitchen floor, and she smiles. "You're up?"
"Pretty early, got work?" Aeri asked.
"As you can tell," she gave Aeri a little spin and they giggled for a moment before Minjeong served her some of her eggs and bacon.
They sat down and ate, and in Minjeong's head all she cared about was getting to work.
"How was your sleep?" Aeri questioned the younger girl.
"Pretty good, I slept pretty well." She nodded.
Aeri's been asking her the same thing every morning and guess it's a habit now. Or maybe she just wants to make sure Minjeong's doing well.
She even never mentioned Jimin in front of Minjeong in case she didn't like it, and the girl appreciated that.
And of course it still hurts Minjeong, and she would do anything it takes to forget about Jimin.
Anything.
Minjeong finished up with her food and washed her plate before grabbing her backpack sitting near the door,
"I'll see you later tonight Aeri!" She blew a tiny kiss at the girl before walking out the door.
She got in her car and started it up, making her way to work which wasn't that far. And the rain was kind of lifting up as time went by.
The best thing about working for Minjeong is the environment they made for her. It made her feel comfortable if she's honest.
and she made friends with a couple of the girls working there.
"Minjeong! You're here early," the receptionist in the front greeted her.
"Morning Miyeon! Is Yujin here?" Minjeong asked.
"Looking for me?" An arm wrapped around her shoulder.
And it nearly startled Her bit, but when she realized it was only Yujin, she gave the girl a little punch in the arm.
"Why're you here so early?" Yujin questioned.
"Got too excited to work," Minjeong nervously laughed.
"Pfft, Min you're always early for some reason."
She gave Minjeong a pat on the back. "Clock in, we got work to do,"
First there was Yujin, who worked with Minjeong in the back, and second was the receptionist Miyeon. She was in charge of whoever entered the building.
If Minjeong was honest, having those two to keep her company at work was the best. They were awesome.
A few hours pass, and they've tackled down all the work they can in the time being until their lunch break rolled around.
"I say we got some pretty decent work done," Yujin walked over to Minjeong, handing a bottle of soda to the girl.
"I'm satisfied though,"
Minjeong watched Yujin grab out her lunch, a box of food that looked homemade.
"Awhh she even made the rice into the shape of a hearttt," Yujin cooed.
"Your mom made you food?"
"My beautiful Girlfriend actually," Yujin snickered, pulling her phone out to snap a picture.
Minjeong chuckled at the girl, smiling at how happy she looked.
She hated to admit it but she was reminded of Jimin all of a sudden but it's not like she could do anything about it. Sure, she was reminded of some of the sweet things Jimin did for her but she didn't want to think about it too much.
"Don't you have lunch?"
"I'll eat when I get home, I only have 2 hours left before I clock out." Minjeong told Yujin.
"Want some of mine?"
"I'm good, you enjoy your food buddy," Minjeong laughed.
It goes silent as Minjeong scrolls through her phone, drinking the soda Yujin gave her.
"Hey Minjeong? I have a question," the girl asked with mouth full of food.
"What's up?" She asked, her eyes glued to the phone.
"you dating anyone?"
And she cleared her throat at the question, wondering what to say. Well it's simple really, "no,"
"Really? Well have you dated? Orr no?
"I did have an ex once, but that was it."
It goes awkwardly quiet and it's because Yujin wasn't sure if she said something she shouldn't have , or maybe it's the vibe in Minjeong she captured.
"I'm sorry if I said something you didn't like,"
"No! It's okay, it's all good not worried Yujin." Minjeong reassured, even if she didn't feel so comfortable she had to tell herself to stop thinking about it.
"Hey, I feel like it's a bit hot in here."
"Is the ac on?"
Yujin started sniffing, sensing something was wrong. "..why does it smell like that?"
"Not gonna lie, I smell it too." The other girl wondered, she looked around the place.
"Minjeong..?"
And Minjeong caught this look on Yujin's face, it's like she couldn't utter a single word because whatever was in front of her took her words away.
And it took Minjeong's too.
