• Minjeong pov •
I had just woken up, and although I couldn't remember entirely why I was lying in a hospital bed, I could remember fragments of what happened.
I recalled shortly after that there was a gas explosion at the place I worked at, resulting in me being really injured.
It's crazy something like that happened to me. I would've never thought that really.
But for some damn reason I don't seem to recall anything else. It's strange really because I knew there's gotta be something more than just this.
It's not like she had memory loss though, according to doctors I just need time to process and I'll be okay.
I heard the door to my room slide open and by the time I had turned to look at the door, I saw her best friend Aeri had walked in.
And a relieved smile grows on my face because I haven't seen Aeri in what felt like forever.
"Minjeong," Aeri chuckled at me, walking up to grab onto my hands, as if I would disappear a second later.
"How are you doing?" I asked her friend, but instead of answering me, Aeri hugged me instead without explanation.
If I listened closely I could hear Aeri crying tears of relief on my shoulders, hugging me without letting go just yet.
I reassured her that I was fine as I stroked the back of Aeri's head, smiling at the silent sobs she let out. She's been extremely worried.
"I'm sorry I caused all of this," I apologized to her.
"It's fine I'm just happy you're still breathing you dummy-" she sniffled in between breaths.
She really was my best friend and she cared so much for me, and I'm glad for everything she's ever done since we were kids I won't forget that.
So I understood why this was all such a huge deal.
A couple moments passed and Aeri managed to calm herself down so we decided to chat for the time being.
"What were you up to when I was here resting?" Minjeong asked her.
"Just at home, and at Ning's place. I was super worried about you," Aeri listed.
Thinking back to all the things that happened lately, I was still trying to process it all.
"The doctors said I can't go home yet."
"You'll get to soon." Aeri set a hand over mine.
"I don't know, I can't say it enough but this entire week and last week must've been crazy."
Aeri nodded. "They even tore down the place you worked at but I heard they're building it up again."
Then I remembered being with Yujin during the incident but thinking about it now, I wondered if she was okay and became worried all of a sudden.
"Aeri, were there any deaths in the accident?"
"No, just injuries." aeri recalled.
The signal for visitors to leave went off and that's when Aeri took her leave. She told me she's coming back tomorrow.
Although I wasn't allowed to get discharged from the hospital just yet until the next couple of days, I was still happy I was able to talk with Aeri and look at the pretty view outside.
I had a pretty amazing view of the trees and the street if I'm being honest and it's the best part about this entire thing really.
A few hours passed and while I was in bed watching a show on the tv in the room, I heard a knock once before the door slid open.
I peeled my eyes off of the tv, glancing at the nurse in my room.
I mean, I thought it was a nurse.
