Pauline x Fem! Reader (Fluff)

Third person POV

Today has been a very busy day for Pauline. Fair enough, she was the mayor of New Donk City and spent most of her time doing paperwork, going to meetings to improve the city or attending special events she was invited to. While it was somewhat fun and got her productive, she got exhausted after these days and this day was one of them; she couldn't get a proper break from all the work today! The tall brunette surpressed a yawn, pushing the key into the keyhole to open the door after she stepped to the doorstep. The door opened and she entered the house, closing the door behind her. She couldn't help but look around her surroundings, hoping she would see you greeting her but to no avail. She shrugged and went to her bedroom to change into more comfortable clothes. After she had done that, she stepped out of the room to make her way into the living room. She wore a red top and white leggins.

And surprise, surprise; Pauline had noticed you sitting on the couch, remote in hand, watching TV. The channels on the device kept on switching and you started to groan in frustration, not noticing your girlfriend standing behind you. "Jeez, now I remember why I stopped watching TV...", you complained, rolling your eyes. You pressed a button on the remote, making the TV turn off. Right after you did that, two arms started to wrap around your body from behind, hugging you which made you yelp in surprise. You knew exactly who did that. "Ah! Pauline!"

A soft chuckle escaped her lips in response, pulling her body closer to yours, though the couch was the only thing keeping you apart. You could smell her perfume and it strongly smelled like strawberries. She pulled her body away from yours, making you feel somewhat dissapointed. She went over to sit next to you, making it clear that she was seeking contact. She asked in a playful tone, "Was it that boring without me, sweetie?"

You could feel your cheeks heating up a little. You loved it when she called you by her given nicknames. "Of course It was! And you? I bet it was even more boring without me.", you responded, a playful grin to match her and you were wiggling your eyebrows at her a little. A soft sigh escaped Pauline as she leaned her head on your shoulder, "More like exhausting... I didn't get to have a single break! Can you believe that?"

You wrapped your arm around her shoulder, caressing it softly. "Aw... I know what you need." She turned her glance at you in a curious manner. You shifted to lie down on the couch, pulling Pauline with you so she was lying with her back on your body. You reached your hand to the side and took the nearest pillow, putting it under her head to make it feel more comfortable for the both of you. She let out a soft hum, taking a liking to what was happening. You both liked to cuddle, though you didn't do it as often as before.

"You know what, this is nice. I'll cancel my appointments for the rest of this week, just to keep cuddling with you.", she mumbled, making you chuckle in response. You moved a little forward, to plant a kiss on Pauline's head, where her soft brunette hair was. The two of you kept on cuddling for hours, falling asleep on the couch and not having a single care in the world while you two were at it.

A/N: I hope you liked this oneshot, despite it being short. Also, sorry for being absent for like three months. My summer break just started this week (I live in Germany for anyone who's wondering) and I didn't have much motivation to write anything, thanks writers block. Next is Luigi x NB! Reader angst.
