Awaking to the world, I quickly realized that I wasn't in the woods. Panicking, I attempted to arise from the white sheeted bed. Pain shot through my left leg as it moved under the crisp sheets.

"Lad, I wouldn't move that leg for a bit. It has ten stitches in it." Sparrow said "The bear left a big gash in it, luckily I was able to stitch it up so you wouldn't loose more blood."

"How did you get me here?" I curiously inquired as it finally clicked in my brain that I was in Sparrow's home.

"Just like what I did for your brother. Threw you on the front of my atv and brought you to my cabin to patch you up. Mind you, it was much easier fixing you up." he shrugged.

"My brother's here!?"

"Yeah, I couldn't just leave him in the woods.

"Where is he? I thought a wild animal got him."

"He's in my other spare bedroom down the hall."

Utilizing all my remaining strength in my arms, I pushed against the mattress determined to lay eyes on my sibling. Raising my back for a few seconds, I plopped back down into the wooden frame bed. Sparrow rushed over.

"Lad, ya need to rest. You have-"

"I need to see my brother to make sure he is okay."

"No lad, you need to be idle. If you move that leg too much the stitches could reopen causing another bloody mess and having a permanent scar there. Plus, your brother is having a well needed slumber right now."

"When can I see him then?"

"Tell you what lad, if ya lay nicely hear without moving your leg. You'll see your brother once he awakes from his nap." Sparrow offered me as he cleaned up medical supplies on the chestnut brown nightstand on my left.

"Deal." I said as I nodded my head in agreement.

Stepping out of the room, he informed me he would be back in 30 minutes to check on me.

Memorizing the room's layout from my position, the room had two nightstands, a medium sized custom made dresser, and a surprisingly large closet. Once committing every single detail to memory and walking through how I got here, I stared at the ceiling counting the seconds until I look my only remaining family member in the face.

Feeling like an eternity, Sparrow finally came into the room to check on his stitching job on my leg. Asking him if my brother was up, he told me he hadn't woken up yet. This transpired for about five to eight more times until he brought me something to eat for supper. Venison. Placing my dishes on my right nightstand from my woodsy dinner, the exhaustion from earlier today overtook me.

"Lad, are you up?"

Rubbing my sleepy eyes, "Yeah, I'm awake." I drowsily responded.

"Your brother is awake, if you want to see him."

Swinging my legs off to the side of the bed, surprisingly I felt no pain.

"Use these crutches." Sparrow stated as he handed them to me, "You need to keep the weight off that leg until it is fully healed."

Placing one under each arm, Sparrow helped me onto my feet as I attempted to get a feel for my new temporary body extensions. Thanks to my previous athleticism, I could move around the room in no time.

"Okay lad, let's go see your brother." Sparrow exclaimed as he walked out into the hallway. Following him, I entered a plain stained oak hallway that sported a portrait of a mountain peak on one of its walls.
