The next day, Corinne and Nyx were eating lunch and talking, when Linda walked up. "Hey Corinne, I'm doing this protest for tomorrow during the meeting with the board. Are you in?" Corinne looked at Nyx for help."Umm". Linda just waited for her response.

Nyx showed mercy to her friend. "Sorry Lindy, I already booked Corinne for the week." Nyx said, looking at Linda, "What for? Carol isn't having practice for hours." Linda asked, crossing her arms.

"Well good thing that Corinne's life isn't just theater then. She's helping me make a performance for Friday" Nyx remarks, clapping her hand together and smiling as fakely as she can. "What's this Friday?" Linda questioned.

"The JV first game of the season. The JV cheerleaders are following orders from Varsity and refusing to cheer for them" Nyx answered. "Oh, so they're refusing to use their body to cheer for a men's sport."Linda replied, "Yeah, instead I'm selling my body cause I have no respect for myself." Nyx replied snarky, playing with her hair. Linda just rolled her eyes before walking away

Corinne let out her laughter that she was holding in. "You love to stick it to her so much," Corinne comments. "I can't stand her and you know it." Nyx just shrugged. "But she loves you so much," Corinne said sarcastically. Nyx just stared at her and rolled her eyes. "I bet"

"Look your boy is flirting it up with Mindy" Corinne nudged her head towards where the cheerleaders were sitting. Nyx looked over and sat Luis checking Mindy out, sitting next to her. "I'm sorry" Corinne looked back at Nyx. "Don't be, I knew that he was a flirt. Which is why I would never go for him. It's just a stupid crush. I will get over it soon" Nyx shook her head.

They continued to eat and talk more about what Nyx could do for Friday. When suddenly, they saw some of the JV running and Varsity chasing them. Soon the whole school was following it.

"Should we even care?" Corinne asked as the whole school was running around them. "Do we even want to know?" Nyx asked.They looked at each other and knew they were full from eating to run. "Nah"

They heard through the rest of the students that JV pulled a prank on the Varsity, involving house turds and a lunch bag."I can't say that I'm surprised." Corinne said sitting in practice. "Yeah and apparently, the Varsity and JV cheerleaders managed to get it as well" the person who was retelling the story said. "I bet Linda was very pleased with that piece of the informance" Nyx input, looking at Corinne.

"Thanks for filling us in" Nyx told the student, they just threw them a smile and left. "I swear, everyone is a gossip" Corinne spoke once they were out of earshot. "We're not better, we asked to be filled in" Nyx replied, nudging Corinne. "Yeah but we didn't follow it around like some paparazzi. So we're just a little bit better" Corinne jokes.

"I'm so thankful that Carol is more focused on getting the lights right. I'm too tired to be going through the play right now" Nyx laid down. "Tell me about it. I just do one song and I'm stressed" Corinne replied, looking down at the sheet music.

"ALRIGHT, everyone who isn't on lights. You can go." Carol said from the light booth. "Don't need to tell us twice," Corinne said, grabbing her stuff. Nyx also gets her stuff but more slowly. "I will see you tomorrow. My mom wants me to help with dinner" Corinne told Nyx, while walking out.

Nyx walked out but soon regretted not taking more time. Luis was standing, waiting for her. "Hey, coach informed us that we would be cheered on by you personally" Luis said, smiling. "Not cheered on. I will just get the crowd riled up for you guys. It's more for the crowds than you. The school band is cheering" Nyx corrected.

Nyx and Luis started to walk towards the front. "Well coach said that if it wasn't for you getting the crowd riled up like you say. We probably would look bad for our first game. So thank you." Luis said, looking at Nyx.

"Oh so you came after your hockey practice to say thank you" Nyx stopped looking at Luis. "Well yeah. My mom taught me matters." Luis replied. "Look Luis, I'm not trying to be rude because my mom taught me matters too, but what are you really doing here?" Nyx said as nicely as she could. "I'm just passing thanks from the team," Luis answered. "Yeah and their flirting too?" Nyx asked, crossing her arms.

Luis just stayed quiet, so Nyx spoke up "I will not lie to you. I do think that you're very good looking-" "Thank you" "but I'm not interested in being played. I have seen you shooting your shot with Mindy and I like her as much as I do Linda. So please, don't come and try to shoot your shot if you're going to Mindy or anyone else." Nyx explained. Luis didn't say anything.

"I will see you in class tomorrow and also on Friday for the game. Joe is very excited to see you guys play again." Nyx said, started walking to the front of the school, leaving Luis standing there.

Ben and Joe were waiting in the car for her. "What's taking you so long?" Joe complained, poking his head out of the window. Nyx walked up to him and pushed his head inside of the vehicle and got in. Ben drove them home.

When they walked in, Rebecca greeted them. "Hey kids, how was school?" she asked, looking at her two kids. "It was fun, '' Joe said, walking up the stairs. "Don't words vomit please" Rebecca said with sarcasm in her voice , before turning to her daughter. "What about you sweetie". "It was good. Tiring but good" Nyx answered, smiling softly. "Well go get cleaned up. I made you guys favorite" She kissed her head, stepping back to give her daughter space. "Okay" Nyx nodded and walked up the stairs.
