chapter 11

the next morning when i woke up i dreaded the day ahead of me, i can't believe we got detention. i mean i get why, but i don't know why they made it all together, i can't stand Ron and Harry right now.

i sighed as i got dressed for the day, there was a light knock on my door "come in!" i shouted. "uhm, hi! I'm Pansy," the girl said opening my door, "oh hi! sorry i thought you were Draco, nice to meet you, I'm y/n!" i said sticking my hand out, "oh i know, uhm Draco's told us all about you," she chuckled, "oh- all good i hope?" she giggled, "mostly, he's said you were quite annoying, but i don't think he actually means that," i laughed, "me either," she looked around my room, "i love what you've done with the place!" i smiled, "i can help with yours if you'd like? I'm really good at decorating!" she nodded, "yes please, i hate the boringness of it," we talked while i got ready for the day, "oh by the way, i love the way you stood up to the 'golden trio' i always thought it was unfair, the special treatment they got, just because Harry was apart of it," i nodded, "yeah i completely agree, they needed to be knocked down a peg," Draco said walking into my room, "oh hi, good morning," i smiled greeting him. he smiled and sat down on my bed, the three of us talked while i finished getting my hair and makeup together for the day.

"can we please go, I'm starvingggg!" i giggled, "let's go," i grabbed my bag and we all headed down to the breakfast hall, i was stopped by snape, "here is your new schedule," he said handing me a paper, "thank you professor," he nodded and walked out. i went over to the table, looking at my schedule, "i think we have all the same classes again Draco!" he smiled, "i knew we would, were in the same house after all, and they didn't want to change things too much, but now you have a language class instead of an animal class," i nodded, "makes sense!" i dug in and we went to our classes.

after classes me and Draco made our way to filch, "ah yes, now we have everyone, good, let's go!" as we walked out to Hagrid, Filch was speaking to all of us, "A pity they let the old punishments die. There was a time detention would find you hanging by your thumbs in the dungeons. God, I miss the screaming," i giggled, i knew he was joking, but Draco gulped and Hermione rushed past. Filch smiled at me, "Draco calm down, he's not being serious," i said, placing a hand on his shoulder, "nope no, can't get the picture out of my head," i shook my head and walked ahead of everyone.

after they talked for a while inside Hagrid's hut, they came out and started speaking over each other, "no look-" "wait he's being-" "wait no-" i sighed, "can we just go and get this done please?! i am rather tired after a full day of classes," Harry and Ron looked at me like i was insane, Draco looked at me sympathetically, Hagrid smiled, filch was already walking back to the castle, and Hermione was smirking. "right, let's go hm?" Hagrid said walking towards the dark forest.

Hagrid stops, bends down and dips his fingers in a silver puddle. He pulls out his fingers and rubs them together. A silver trail smears with his fingers. "Hagrid, what's that?" harry asked, "oh its-" he starts to explain, i cut him off, "unicorn's blood," i said. "right y/n, and it's what we're here for, now i want ye all to split into groups," i looked around, "I'll go with Cedric and Bea!" i said going over to them, Draco looked at me dumbfounded, "right, uh Ron, Hermione, you're with me, Draco and harry, you're together," they sighed, "Okay. Then I get Fang!" Draco shouts, i giggled, " Fine. Just so you know, he's a bloody coward," Hagrid says, fang whines and Draco sighs.

we all split off, "okay, so how is the Slytherin rooms?!" Bea asked when we were far enough away, i giggled, "they're nice, a little bigger than Hufflepuff, and and! i made a new friend, Pansy!" they smiled, "that's amazing y/n!" Ced speaks, he gives me a slight hug, "thanks Ced, I'm sure we could all be good friends you know," they shook their heads, "just because we all love you, doesn't mean we're all gonna love each other," i nodded, "oh yeah oops, sorry," i said scratching the back of my neck. i heard a familiar scream, "shit!" i shouted and followed to where i heard it last, Draco was nowhere to be found, but harry was on the ground, a dementor, or cloaked figure of some kind floating just above him, i rushed over, "lumos!" i casted and the figured drifted back slightly, "shit!" i said, tripping over a root next to harry, "great work smartass," harry snickered beside me, i groaned and was about to say something when a figure leaps over us and lands near the cloaked figure. It is a silver centaur. It rears, and the cloaked figure retreats, flying away. " Harry Potter, y/n Taylor, you must leave. You are known to many creatures here. The Forest is not safe at this time. Especially for you two," the centaur speaks, "But what was that thing you saved me from?" harry asks from beside me, "A monstrous creature. It is a terrible crime to slay a unicorn. Drinking the blood of a unicorn will keep you alive even if you are an inch from death. But at a terrible price. You have slain something so pure that from the moment the blood touches your lips, you will have a half-life. A cursed life," he spoke again, "what is your name sir?" i asked, "ah y/n, my name is Firenze, lovely to meet you," he bowed slightly, i smiled and did the same.
