6: Tuxedo, white or red?

It was the usual knock on his door. Xiao Zhan expected to see Jingyu at the door but it was Rui mom with his black coffee in hands.

"Mom?"

She didn't explain. A soft smile played on her lips as she entered inside and took the freedom to sit on the chair near his desk after handing him the coffee.

"A-Zhan. Can we proceed?" She asked expectantly.

He knew what she was talking about. It has already been one and half months since he met Yibo. After their awkward meet-up in the police station, they get along pretty well, mostly through texts. It took him eight days to have his belongings back from the station though they had captured the thief the next morning of the theft. He lost all the money in his wallet but got at least the car and phone. He is fine with it. The money lost, he considered it as the loss for his ignorance.

After getting his phone back, it has become a habit of Xiao Zhan to talk with Yibo for hours and also mentally prepared to become his husband. His only concern is about Jingyu. Rui mom is asking about fixing his engagement with Yibo but she has no idea how Jingyu would react if that happens. Xiao Zhan wondered if he would accept it or not.

Rui might have learnt his worries. "Don't worry about anything. Just say if you are ready or not. We will take care of other things." She gently assured him.

"Mom, Jingyu..."

"Leave it to us. He has promised us to not cause any chaos or else he will know about the consequences soon. He gave us an assurance. That's why we asked Yibo's hand in marriage in the first place. What about you? Do you want to marry Yibo?"

Xiao Zhan nodded without any hesitation.

"What about him?" She was asking about Yibo.

"I guess the feelings are mutual though we haven't voiced it out loud to each other."

Rui smiled and got up. "Great! That's the only thing I want to hear. We are going to talk with his family soon."

He nodded and she patted gently on his shoulder before leaving.

It was the next day Xiao Zhan got to know that Huang parents had discussed their matter with Wang parents and fixed the engagement on the next sunday. It's Yibo who told that to him while they were having a casual talk. Instead of feeling joy, he was filled with worry.

It wasn't out of place either. The very day, when he was getting ready to go to work, he heard yelling from down the stairs. Jingyu had returned after clubbing. It's already midnight but still early for him to get home. He might be about to come and see Zhan. Now that Zhan is going to get engaged, Rui mom has vowed to not allow Jingyu to sleep in Zhan's room. He has to accept the facts now or later.

Xiao Zhan went down to have his bottle filled with water. Definitely he saw Jingyu arguing with parents in the living room. He ignored it and went his way to the purifier.

"NO!NO!NO! I WON'T ALLOW THIS! You are all liars. Before you said he is all mine. Then you set him up with someone else. You said he will love as before even if he is married but now he no longer loves me even before the engagement. NO! I won't allow this. He is all MINE!" Jingyu went hysterical talking to his parents.

But the parents were extremely calm. Huang Shen simply took out a bunch of documents and threw them on the couch table.

"This is what we pay for your madness. It is the papers to disown you. Either you could just agree with our decision and be a part in the engagement ceremony of Xiao Zhan as a good brother as he sees you or you can forget your surname and also the luxuries you currently own. You can choose either way but one thing, don't call us parents anymore if you are choosing the second one."
