I looked up from the beautiful dark raven feather in my hand and locked eyes with Nyxie. Her energy was somehow stronger. Definitely a lot more noticeable. Her scent was just so overwhelming, so pungent as I inhaled her aroma. Weird, I didn't sense any vanilla from her moments ago up until now. Even though we were a few feet apart from each other everything around me felt like it was going fast yet so slow.
Everything in me and around me almost felt...enhanced. The water and blood dripping from the pipe behind me was louder and annoyingly noticeable. The sound of Amber's heel making contact with the dirty tiled floor echoed in my head as she exited the restroom, away from her sisters. How the lights hummed above us all while shining on our bodies from either side of the room. They shined like a pretty disco ball of sweat and glitter all while my own blood, sweat and tears covered in dirt glistened under the same light. Nyxie's voice booming in my ears brought me back to the situation at hand. Causing me to wince at the sudden change of volume.
"W-what the fuck are you?! I knew there was something weird about you but I didn't think you would actually live up to the name!!" She yelled, failing at hiding the fear in her glistened eyes. I rapidly blinked at her comment and leaned my body slightly forward; caused by the stiffness from my back. No longer keeping my eye on the women in front of me, another black raven-like feather elegantly swayed back and forth near my face. I looked up towards the ceiling not being able to find the source of where these feathers were coming from. Then the same stiffness from not even 5 seconds ago came back, causing me to shift side to side. At the speed of light a black wing flapped towards the right side of my peripheral vision and disappeared just as fast. Did a bird accidentally get in? I faced the stalls to see that there weren't any windows above them like all the other restrooms in the campus. Making it impossible for a bird to accidentally trap itself in here. Another burst of the same uncomfortable stiffness shot through my back again. I squinted my eyes this time at the feeling and crawled forward on all fours, wanting nothing more than to get rid of the annoying feeling. I instantly felt a huge weight on my back causing me to move completely forward. I lost my balance a bit as the side of my face glided through the wet dirty floor before I could stop myself using my hands to hold myself still. Causing my metal mask to scrape against the ground, leaving a red streak of paint behind.
"Ew, What the hell is she doing???" Bella whispered.
"Does it look like I fucking know?" Nyxie shoots back in a whisper all while not breaking eye contact from what she believes to be a weird monster hunched over on the disgusting floor. Where she strongly believes where 'it' belongs, beneath her.
Not being able to tell who said what, weirdly enough it sounded like it was said inches away from my face, or at least what I was able to hear. None of it mattered though, feeling too uncomfortable to even care. The stiffness on my back went away just as fast as it came and then the unthinkable happened. As I looked through my peripheral vision from my half squished face there on display, as clear as honey, was a giant black bird-like wing branching from my own backside. I held my breath out of utter shock and disbelief as multiple black feathers swayed in the air like the previous ones. I immediately shot up from the ground and let out a panicked squeal but then immediately regretted it as my sides and wrists screamed at me through pain– its way of letting me know that I'm moving too abruptly considering the stage and utter shock it's in. Tears silently pooled on the edges of my eyes as they ran down my face. I wrap my arms around my sides to support and comfort myself as my legs slightly shake— foreign to the new weight that it now has to support but not hard enough for my now 'new' body to sustain.I focused on balancing my weight and slowly looked behind me once again hoping that it was just my cruel imagination playing tricks on me at a really bad time—which is now. But unsurprisingly there they were in its dark glory, a pair of midnight black wings attached to my very new outstanding broken body. This body I grew to hate is the same hence the cuts, blood, bruises, and broken ribs still visible. But clearly and obviously visually different from the change of muscle, intense body senses, smurf-like skin and giant bird wings.
