Have you ever had one of those moments, where you think youve got a great idea? But then immediately start to regret it? I was having one of those moments now. How did I even think this was a good idea in the first place?

Becoming someone's girlfriend to keep a guy at bay? And a girl at that!? I wasn't gay - Well, at least I think I'm not? - I haven't been in a relationship before with anyone, so I can't really confirm that I'm straight either...

What am I thinking... I've been disracted too easily these days. Why is she staring at me now? Do I have something on my face?

Jordan had been looking at me for at least - I want to say 10 minutes? - it felt like forever.

"Ok." she said. Just like that.

"Ok?" I gasped. Did she just agree to my crazy idea? This girl must be crazier than me!

"With conditions..." she grinned. Why do I now feel like I'm Alice looking at the Cheshire Cat?

"Sure. Conditions. That makes sense." I say, trying to sound confident. This makes no sense, I said internally. "What are they?"

"Public displays of affection." - I now feeling a little panicked. Where the hell is she going with this?

"Will be only when necessary for people who need to be convinced, and only when we're in public."

"Of course! Makes sense," I agreed. "Anything else?"

"Oh, wait," I said before she could continue. "Let me write this down so we don't forget."

Jordan then continued. I was surprised at how fast she could come up with the list of conditions. Was this something she'd thought about before?

After about five minutes, I'd neatly recorded - because that's kind of my thing - the conditions for our fake relationship. The Deal.

1. Public Displays Only When Necessary- We'll only show affection in public or when around people who need convincing.

2. Clear boundries - Physical contact will be kept to a minimum. Enough to convince other people only.

3. Honesty - Be honest with each other about how we are feeling and changes in our personal lives that could impact our deal.

4. Duration - This deal will last for 3 months, with the option to extend by agreement of both parties.

5. No real relationships - We agree not to pursue any real romantic relationships with others for the duration of our deal.

6. Support - Promise to support each other in public and stand up for each other if we're confronted or questioned by others.

7. End game - Before the end of the 3 months, we'll agree to a 'break up' plan - One which both parties do not look bad as a result.

I looked through the list and nodded. I had no issues with this list, especially point five. I showed Jordan the list, and put out my hand to shake hers.

"So we have a deal then?"

"We have a deal," grinning at me like I'd just sold my soul, "lover." Jordan winked.

I was already starting to regret this. Jordan took hold of my hand and shook it. I felt like I'd been shocked with electricity - and butterflies were let loose in my stomach.

What the hell?
