As the cat settled down on top of the pillow, Emily was too engrossed in the photo on her phone to give a damn about that f-ing cat.
Unbeknownst to Emily and Jordan, Sarah had actually snapped a photo when they weren't looking. In the image, the two girls could be seen staring at each other. We really do look good together, Emily thought.
>> See! I told you two you
look great together ❤️ 😘😘Can this girl really read my mind? thought Emily, as she looked around her room to make sure she wasn't actually in there with her.
Emily called Sarah. The question she had was too important for a text message.
"Hey! What's up?" quizzed Sarah.
"Um...Well...I wanted to ask you a question. I... I mean, my friend thinks she might like someone, but... she isn't sure as she's never been in a relationship before...."
"Cut the crap, Em! I know you're talking about yourself."
"What? How?"
"Because I'm your only real friend! And I know it's not me that is liking someone," Sarah laughed.
"Oh..right," Emily said quietly.
"Ok.. So you like Jordan. What of it? Just tell her."
"What? No! I mean, how do you know if you like someone? And what if they don't like you back?" Emily cringed.
"I can tell that Jordan likes you. I've seen they way she looks at you. As for you, my dull headed friend, I can tell that you like her too," Sarah said confidently.
"What? How can you tell? Even I'm not sure!"
"I've known you a long time, Em. I can see the way you look at her. And the number of times you end up blushing or stuttering around her... Aahh. I just know."
"Then what should I do?"
"Just tell her you like her..."
Emily blushed. "Oh, no. I could never do that."
"Listen, Em. You've never been in a relationship before. And as far as I'm aware, you've never even liked anyone before. You're almost 18 years old. Almost an adult. Be brave and take a step toward her."
"I could never...What if she doesn't feel the same? No. I need to think about this some more."
"Whatever, I'm going to sleep. Wuss," Sarah teased as she hung up.
Emily looked at the image on her phone. Could I really tell her that I like her? What would she say? I can't. I'd be to embarressed.
Emily smiled as she remembered her interactions with Jordan so far, especially that kiss. As she reminisced she felt something furry sweep across her face.
"This fuckin' cat!"

Jordan
As I zoomed in on the image that Sarah had sent me, I could help but giggle to myself. This girl was really too cute. She was even giving me butterflies. The last time I was this nervous was when I was coming out to my parents.
I wondered how she might actually feel about me. I'd seen how she would stammer a little when she spoke. Was she nervous around me? She does blush quite a bit, which is super adorable. It makes me want to hug her.
Maybe I could invite her out. Opening the messenger app, I start to type a message. Five minutes later, I'm still stuck on "Hey." Damn it! I've messaged and flirted with girls before. Why is this so hard?
