The girls squealed at the message on the screen, passing the phone around like it was a bomb. Even though they were all quite accomplished in their own right, it was still so exciting. They felt like teenagers again, kicking their feet over a snapchat from a cute boy. Except this wasn't a 'cute boy from school', it was THE Ken Sato: America's boyfriend, the greatest living baseball player, and consistent contender for the 'Sexiest Man Alive' title. Despite his cockiness, millions adored him, yet he was in (y/n)'s dms.
"What do I even say?" (y/n) wailed, flopping onto her couch with her arm over her eyes. Jasmine, who was holding her phone, fell on top of her with a small 'oof'. She shoved the device into her best friend's face as the other girls crowded around them.
"Just say 'hey' back," Piper suggested, leaning a bit on the coffee table behind her as she sat cross-legged before the distressed popstar.
"He was smooth as hell, she has to respond with the same energy," Tanya said, resting her chin on the couch.
"I think any chance of being cool went out the window already, y'all, he DEFINITELY saw that interview," Alicia noted, gently brushing some of (y/n)'s raven hair in a soothing motion. Suddenly, (y/n) sat up, taking her phone out of Jasmine's grasp and clutching it in her lap.
"Ok, I'm just gonna respond," She said breathlessly, typing quickly with a smile on her face. The girls crowded around her, watching her movements intently. As she finished typing the message, the girls nodded in approval and she hit 'send'.
