Van Palmer was royally pissed off. No, in fact, pissed off didn't even come close to how angry Van was. Jackie was already surprised enough to find both Van and Jane alive. No one could really understand just why Van was so annoyed; even Tai had stared at her in confusion as she strode past Jackie, eyes never leaving the girl's form, the wave of anger bubbling up inside her unmatched by any rage she had ever felt before, even towards her mother. The only words on her lips as they passed each other were a sarcastic "Surprise!"

Jackie winced and Tai stared at her, slightly uncomfortable at the hostile manner in which Van was treating Jackie. But still, she couldn't bring herself to care. Perhaps if Jane hadn't passed out a while ago, Van could have vented all her frustrations to her, to someone who would understand. Van turned to check, and as expected, Jane was out cold; whether she was asleep on Javi's shoulder or unconscious, she didn't know, but what she did know was that she'd have to get up sooner or later, even to just move closer to the fire.

Misty was still wandering around, checking on all the girls. Eventually, she'd get to Jane, right? She couldn't help her thoughts returning to to the unmoving girl, wondering if she was okay, and it seemed Misty had the same thoughts, for her next patient was very clearly Jane. With a couple of taps on the cheek, Jane was jolted awake, and Javi was too, in turn. They both sat silently as Jane pulled the skirt of her dress up so Misty could look at her leg, elevated on a log. She didn't look long, but her hands lingered in a way that had Van piping up to Misty, "What are you looking at? Do you need help?"
