𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲 I woke up rubbing my eyes as I got up stretching. I checked my phone, seeing it was 12 something. I took a shower, put on some clothes, and headed downstairs.
"Morning, Duke," I said, giving him a soft smile. "Hey, Lani," he said, returning the smile.
I grabbed some orange juice from the fridge and looked around for Ray. "Rayy??" I called, looking into his room but not seeing him.
"Lee!!" I called out as I saw him in the backyard doing a pool stream.
"What are you doing, silly?" I asked as I went to the edge of the pool, smiling at him. "A pool stream. Say hi to chat," he said, swimming over to me on a little floatie.
"Hi, chat," I said with a smile. "You wanna join?" he asked. "Ehh, I don't know," I hesitated before he splashed me.
"Boy, now just for that, no," I said, walking away. "Pleaseeeee," he said, giving me puppy dog eyes.
"Let me get my bathing suit on," I said, walking back into the house.
I headed upstairs, quickly changed into my bathing suit, and grabbed a towel. As I walked back outside, I could hear him chatting with his viewers.
"Lani's coming back!" ray announced to the stream, excitement in his voice.
I stepped out into the backyard, feeling the warm sun on my skin. "Alright, I'm ready," I said, standing at the edge of the pool.
"Yay, come on in!" Ray cheered, making space for me on the floatie.
I got onto the floatie with him, kicking my feet in the water. "So, chat, we're doing last to leave the pool—"
"Ray, I know you lying," I said, looking at him. "I'm deadass, Zozo," he said, his expression serious but playful.
"What does the winner get?" I asked as I got off the floatie. "200 BUCKS!!" he announced with a big grin.
"Mmmmmmm okay," I said, sitting on the edge of the pool.
As I sat there for a minute, Fanum came out with some food. "Who wants some glizzies?" he said, holding up two hot dogs.
"Fanum," I said, looking at him in disbelief.
"Fanum, I told you, good and hard challenges so we can get out of the pool," Ray said, shaking his head.
"Oh ong, the next one gonna be good," Fanum said, heading back into the house.
Ray turned to me, grinning. "You ready for this, Zozo?"
"Ready as I'll ever be," I said, taking a deep breath. "Bring it on."
"Alright, chat, place your bets! Who do you think will win?" Ray said, addressing the camera as the chat started flooding with comments.
Just then, Fanum returned with a mischievous look on his face, carrying a box. "Time for the real challenge," he said, opening the box to reveal various items.
"What's in there?" I asked, curious.
"You'll see," he said, setting the box down. "First challenge: whoever can hold their breath the longest underwater wins."
Ray and I exchanged glances, both determined. "ohh your deff gonna lose," I said, sliding into the water and taking a deep breath.
"Alright, on three," Fanum said. "One, two, three!"
We both submerged ourselves, holding our breath as long as we could. The seconds ticked by, and I could hear my heartbeat in my ears. I glanced at Ray underwater, both of us focused.
Finally, I couldn't hold it any longer and surfaced, gasping for air. Ray emerged right after me, also gasping.
"Who won?" I asked, panting.
"Ray won by a second," Fanum said, laughing. "But that was close!"
"Good job," I said, giving Ray a high five.
"Thanks, Zozo," he replied, still catching his breath. "Ready for the next challenge?"
"Let's do it," I said, feeling the competitive spirit rise.
