After three months of Ray being on and off with streaming and traveling, I had finally finished my own stream. I took a shower and went downstairs, only to spot Davis on the couch. "Oh, heyy Davis!" I said, smiling wide since he rarely came around.
"Sup, kid," he replied, standing up to give me a hug. We settled on the couch, catching up and chatting about streaming and everything that had been going on. Somewhere in the middle of our conversation, I drifted off, only to wake up at 2 a.m. to the sound of someone coming in.
"Hello?" I mumbled, still half-asleep. I squinted and saw Ray and Kai walking over to me. "Hi, Zozo," I heard Ray's voice say, and I couldn't help but smile.
"Hii, Ray Ray," I whispered as he came over to the couch and hugged me. We ended up staying like that, and the next morning, I woke up to Chris and Fanum standing over us.
"Aww, y'all so cute," they teased, making me blush.
I looked down at Ray's hair, running my fingers through it. "Ray, why is your hair brown?" I asked as he hummed, still half-asleep.
"He dyed it, duh," Fanum said from the kitchen, clearly amused.
"No shit," I muttered, grinning as I continued lying there with Ray until he finally woke up and got up himself.
As Ray stretched and yawned, his fingers ran through his freshly dyed brown hair, and I couldn't help but laugh a little.
"What?" he mumbled, looking at me with a sleepy smile.
"Nothing," I said, shaking my head. "I'm just still getting used to this whole brown-hair Ray thing. You know, the whole 'new look, new vibe' and all that."
Ray smirked, giving me a playful shove. "You know I make it look good."
Just then, Kai walked into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes. "Y'all still here? Thought I'd have the house to myself this morning."
"Nah, bro, you're stuck with us," Ray laughed, grabbing an orange juice from the fridge and passing one to me.
We spent the morning just lounging around the house, catching up on everyone's latest stories from streaming, traveling, and the chaos of everything in between. Fanum started making breakfast, and the smell of bacon and eggs filled the kitchen. Chris pulled up a chair beside me, nudging my shoulder.
"So, Zozo," he said, grinning mischievously. "When's the next stream collab with Ray?"
I raised my eyebrow, glancing over at Ray, who was now pouring cereal into a giant bowl. "Whenever he's done running off to dye his hair every other week," I teased.
Ray chuckled. "Don't worry; I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. You're stuck with me, Zozo."
Just as we were settling into the calm of the morning, Fanum and Kai came barreling down the stairs, loud as ever.
"YO! WHO WANTS BACON?" Fanum shouted, waving a pan in the air with the confidence of a chef but the chaos of a bull in a china shop. The smell of sizzling bacon trailed behind him, filling the whole downstairs.
Kai was right behind him, hyping him up like they were about to drop the most fire meal in history. "Ayeee, Fanum in the kitchen! Y'all ready for that Michelin-star breakfast?"
Ray looked over at me, trying not to laugh. "This house never has a quiet moment, does it?" "Clearly not," I replied, grinning. "They act like they're on stage 24/7."
Fanum clanked the pan down on the counter and looked at me and Ray. "Yo, y'all better come get this while it's hot! I didn't wake up early just for y'all to leave me hanging."
Kai added, "Facts! And Zozo, you look like you need some of this bacon to bring you back to life after last night's nap on the couch."
I rolled my eyes, laughing as I slid off the couch. "Alright, alright, we're coming! Don't need y'all making a whole scene."
Fanum and Kai high-fived, both laughing way too hard for this early in the day. It was just another regular morning in the AMP house—loud, chaotic, and honestly, pretty perfect.
As we gathered around the kitchen, it didn't take long for Kai and Ray to start going at each other. It was like they had to roast each other before breakfast or else they couldn't eat.
Kai leaned over the counter, giving Ray a look. "Ayo, Ray, I don't know who let you in here with that faded brown hair lookin' like a wannabe TikTok boy band member."
Ray chuckled, but you could see he was already stammering to come back. "Nah, nah, Kai, at least... at least I don't dress like... like a, uh—like some kid who lost a fight with the clearance rack, bro."
Kai started wheezing, leaning on the counter. "Lost a fight with the clearance rack?! Boy, your English barely survived that sentence. Lookin' like a K-pop dropout who couldn't decide between hip-hop and anime conventions."
Ray looked down, laughing but shaking his head, trying to figure out what to say back. "Bruh, you—you talk too much. Like you think just 'cause you loud, you makin' sense or somethin'?"
"Oh, you mad now?" Kai laughed, pushing Ray's shoulder. "Go on, say it in full sentences, bro. Go ahead, take your time."
Fanum and I were both watching at this point, trying to hold back our laughter. Ray scratched the back of his head, smirking. "Aight, Kai. But let's—let's see you drop in on *my* streams without soundin' like...like a parrot that learned English from TV commercials."
Kai shook his head, barely able to contain his laughter. "Alright, bet. Keep talkin', bro, but just know your English soundin' like it got bootleg subtitles."
Ray cracked up, trying to talk but stumbling over his words even more. "At least...at least I don't scream at my mic like I'm—like I'm tryin' to call my mom across the ocean, bro."
Fanum was losing it by then, and I couldn't hold back anymore either. It was non-stop with these two, and watching Ray try to get his slang together while Kai clowned him made it even funnier. Just another morning with the AMP crew, where roasting was a language all on its own.
