It had been a busy day in the liquor store that Vermon and William worked at— long before the pastry shop.

The two were only around 19, only working as the front men while the bosses men would work in the basement. There had been flooding, leading to all the Stardust to be brought up to the second floor rather than the basement, leaving the documents in the basement— though that wasn't a problem.

No one could get on the second floor without several men seeing them, and the files would be safe in their metal tins.

The two men were bored out of their minds, until a girl came in. another nameless teen that probably hoped a shity passport could get her some free alcohol.

"Hey kid," william started, staring down the young girl. She had brown hair, an oversized jacket, beaten up shoes, and she was drenched from the rain. "got an ID?" he asked.

"..yes.." she whispered, handing it over. Alice Marie Louis it read. He didn't need to look at the rest of it to know it was fake. She couldn't have been older than 14.

Vermon was already walking out from behind the counter, grabbing the girl's arm. "C'mon kid, we weren't born yesterday, get out." The girl however, struggled.

"No— wait please— i just need somewhere to say until the rain stops just a few minutes please," her accent wasn't clear, though it sounded ever so vaguely french.

"You just tried to buy alcohol, kid." Vermon used the word as if it was an insult, as if he wasn't only a few years older than her.

"Vermon," William cut in, looking down at the girl, "look at her, she looks like a strong gust of wind could blow her away, like a piece of paper."

Vermon scoffed, "are you seriously on her side?" he paused, before scoffing, "of course you are, you and your bleeding heart." "shes a kid!" "a little rain wont kill her—" Vermon paused. "...wheres the girl."
