She slowly opened her sleep deprived eyes, gazing into the dark room when the door opened, letting a ray of horizontal light on her.
The instigator held by the door quietly - trying to ascertain if she was asleep or not.
The covers ruffled as she turned on the bed and faced the person by the door.
Delta stood by the half opened door dressed in only a loose shirt that hung lazily on her frame and a black short; her tail wagging docilely.
"Delta ..." Alpha wearily called out, slowly sitting up and subsequently pulling the covers down in invitation.
Delta slowly admitted herself into the room and pushed the door closed with a click; plunging it into darkness - the moonlight being the only light source once more.
"Lady Alpha ...." she wearily greeted, slowly hobbling to her bed - still sour from her confrontation hours ago.
"You're .... back ?" She inquistively asked.
Alpha shifted and flung the sheets away; positioned herself by the side and making space for her guest.
"I am." She replied, gazing at the window impassively.
Delta dropped by the bedside and snugged into her with a purr - purring somemore as Alpha stroked her with a palm; reciprocating the embrace.
"You haven't announce your return to anyone, we were all worried." Delta said, gazing at her inquisitively.
Alpha gazed into the distance forlornly, seemingly brushing over her statement - continuing her petting instead.
"Did you find John smith ?" Delta asked.
"I did." Alpha simply replied.
Delta was uncharacteristically quiet, taking note of the crestfallen expression on Alpha's face and the grief emanating from her.
"Master ?" She slowly added.
"I did." Alpha replied again.
Delta's eyes flicked to the ground as the implications of her words slowly began setting in.
"Master is John smith, isn't he ?" She quietly asked.
Alpha abruptly stopped her stroking, sighing deeply as she turned to face Delta.
"Yes, Master is John Smith." She replied.
Delta barely flinched or moved at the revelation, gazing at Alpha with the same sheepish yet pained expression.
"I knew it." She said.
"Things just didn't add up." She elaborated, slowly sitting up and occupying the space left for her.
Alpha shakily sighed, her eyes flicking in panic as she relived the event again.
"He said I'll understand .... when this was all over but ...."
Delta peered at her intently, urging her to continue.
"I think he is tired of us." Alpha forced out.
"Tired of me." Alpha added with considerable difficulty.
"Why do you think that ?" Delta asked, snuggling closer.
"Err ... uh... ug ... ba ...." Alpha babbled, struggling to find the proper way to voice her reply.
"He ... has always been doing everything for us: he saved us, gave us a home, trained us, bought us this mansion and made sure we thrived." She voiced out.
"And now with the devaluation and our inability to do anything about it ...."
"We never do anything for him. "
Delta rolled her eyes, a genuine smile forming on her features as she listened onwards.
"Tch, what could we have done for him ? He has everything ...."
"He is the strongest, so we can't challenge him to a battle, hoping to impress him with a hard fought battle.
He is the smartest, so we can't impress him with our wit.
He does like gamma's chocalate and the treats at the mitsugoshi company. But ...."
"-and you know damn well that he refuses and brushes off any sexual advances we make." Delta teasingly replied.
"Sometimes i wonder if he does look at us that way at all." She audibly mused.
Alpha smirked, gazing upwards in pensive thought as she crossed her arms to her chest.
"I'm pretty sure he does." She slyly replied.
"At least with this one." She proclaimed with a grin, pushing herself forward indicatively.
Delta stared at her with an unimpressed expression; her brow twitching in frustration.
They kept silent for a while, everyone occupied with their thoughts on the matter as the night dragged on.
"I love him." Alpha blurted out.
Delta turned to face her, her eyes widening in suprise and shock.
"More than I've ever loved anyone before."
"If he thinks he can just walk out of my life for his own amusement then he is mistaken."
Delta perked up at her proclamation with an ecstatic grin.
"What are you gonna do ?" She asked, her tail wagging in excitement.
"I'm gonna hunt him down to the edge of the world ...."
"And have his babies ?" Delta quipped.
"And have his babies." Alpha affirmed after a moment of silence.
Delta's grin widened to a smug degree in amusement.
"You know .... that may not be a bad two women plan." She suggestively added.
Alpha didn't even spare her a glance.
