Serena Destiny Chrisley (born May 17, 1975), known professionally by her mononym Serena, is an American actress, businesswoman, dancer, producer, singer, songwriter, and television personality.
"Serena, your sister will kill me," I said, my heart racing with a mix of panic and exasperation.
I couldn't believe the situation I now found myself.
Serena, Chiara's younger sister, had brought my eight-year-old daughter Destiny to visit me while I was on the road with WWF. I had hoped it would be a nice, uneventful trip, a chance for Destiny to spend time with me. But of course, things never seem to go as planned when Serena is involved.
As soon as Serena arrived, I could tell she was up to no good. She had this mischievous glint in her eye, and the way she was eyeing Matthew Anoaʻi, one of Solofa and Rodney's cousins who was also visiting, set off alarm bells in my head.
Matthew was a good guy, but the last thing I needed was for him to get mixed up with my sister-in-law.
"Oh please, Mark, you are acting like I'm about to run off and marry Matt, I just met him, calm down," Serena said, waving me off dismissively.
But I knew better than to trust her nonchalant attitude. Serena had a habit of downplaying her actions, only to later reveal that she had been planning something all along.
I shook my head and tried to rein in my frustration. "Just make sure you make it on time for your flight back to Texas, Serena," I told her, hoping that a gentle reminder of her responsibilities would keep her in check.
"I will," Serena replied, her tone light and carefree.
But as I watched her interact with Matthew, I couldn't shake the feeling that she had no intention of keeping that promise.
Sure enough, when the time came for Serena to depart, she was nowhere to be found. I frantically searched the hotel, calling out her name, but there was no sign of her. Finally, I managed to get in touch with Chiara, Serena's older sister, to break the news.
"What?!" Chiara shrieked, her voice filled with a mix of disbelief and fury. "Where is she?"
"She, uh, she went to Florida with Matthew," I admitted, bracing myself for the inevitable onslaught.
"Fine, but if anything happens to her, you will be held responsible for it," Chiara said, her tone deadly serious.
"Yeah, yeah," I muttered, already regretting my decision to get involved in this mess.
I knew Chiara was fiercely protective of her younger sister, and I could understand her concern. Serena was only twenty years old, and despite her outward confidence, she was still learning to navigate the world on her own.
As I hung up the phone, I couldn't help but wonder how I had ended up in this situation. I was supposed to be the responsible adult, the one who kept things under control. But with Serena around, that was easier said than done.
