Excitement filled me as I looked forward to our next hangout, but then everything changed. Paparazzi pictures surfaced online—Billie kissing another girl. Shock and hurt washed over me, and I couldn't bring myself to respond to Billie's messages, even as they flooded my phone. I knew we weren't officially together, but it still stung.

The next morning, the room brightened as the sun rose, gently waking me from my sleep. I buried my face in the pillow, wishing the vibrations would just stop. They didn't. After silencing my phone, I quickly slipped into a pair of jeans and a crop top. Grabbing my phone from the bedside table, I noticed several notifications on the screen, but I chose to ignore them for the moment. I left the room, ready to start my day without any distractions weighing on my mind.

I did my best to avoid my phone and the persistent temptation of checking for messages. Billie's name popped up again and again, her messages relentless.

Once in the living room, Emma and Alex were visibly excited, their faces lit up with anticipation. Just as they were about to continue their conversation, I spoke softly, "Guys, there's something I need to talk to you about." Emma and Hailey turned their full attention to me, concern etched on their faces. Taking a deep breath, I showed them the paparazzi pictures on my phone. "These surfaced a few days ago. Billie... she was kissing another girl."

Their eyes widened in shock. "Oh, Violet," Hailey said, her voice laced with sympathy.

"I don't know how to handle it," I continued, my voice trembling. "I've been avoiding her messages ever since. I just... I don't know if I can trust her."

Emma frowned, her brows furrowing. "That's tough. You deserve answers. Maybe you should talk to her."

"I'm not ready to confront her," I admitted, feeling a lump in my throat. "Ignoring it won't make it go away, but I just can't face her right now."

Hailey nodded, understanding in her eyes. "Take your time. When you're ready, you'll know."

I nodded gratefully, feeling a bit of the burden lift from my shoulders. "Thanks, guys. I really needed to hear that."

Emma and Alex paused, their excitement momentarily tempered by the seriousness of my revelation. They exchanged a quick glance, silently communicating their concern.

"Violet, we're here for you," Emma said gently, her voice reassuring. "Whatever you decide to do, we'll support you."

"Yeah, take all the time you need," Alex chimed in, offering a supportive smile.

I felt a surge of warmth at their words. "Thank you," I replied softly, grateful for their unwavering support.

Hailey squeezed my hand, a silent gesture of support. "It's important to take care of yourself," she said softly.

Emma then brightened with a smile. "And you know what might help? We've been planning a road trip for a while now," she said, her voice hopeful. "It's spring break, the perfect time for us to relax and have some fun together."
