The next morning, the room brightened as sunlight came through the curtains. Billie stirred beside me, her arm still draped around my waist as we lay entangled under the covers. For a few moments, I simply basked in the warmth of her embrace, savoring the intimacy of the moment. The events of last night replayed in my mind, and a smile tugged at my lips as I looked up at her peaceful face.

Eventually, Billie's eyes fluttered open, and when she saw me, her lips curled into a lazy smile. "Morning," she whispered, her voice still husky from sleep.

"Morning," I replied, my heart swelling as she pulled me closer for a soft kiss. The tenderness in that small gesture made my chest feel light and full all at once.

After a few minutes of comfortable silence, Billie stretched, her body warm against me. "Finneas and I are going to the studio today," she murmured, her fingers tracing lazy patterns on my arm. "You should come with us."

I blinked, surprised by the offer. "Really? I wouldn't be intruding?"

Billie chuckled softly. "You could never intrude. Besides, I want you there." Her eyes searched mine, the sincerity in her gaze unmistakable. "It'll be fun, I promise."

My hesitation melted away in the face of her enthusiasm. "Alright, I'll come," I said with a smile.

After a few more lazy moments in bed, we finally dragged ourselves out from under the covers and got dressed. Billie, always effortlessly cool, threw on a simple black T-shirt and ripped jeans, while I grabbed a pair of leggings and one of her oversized sweatshirts that she wanted me to wear.

As I made my way downstairs, the smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, and Billie quickly poured us both a cup before we headed out. The drive to the studio was relaxed, the morning sun bright in the sky as we talked about the songs she was working on.

When we arrived at the studio, Finneas was already there, setting up equipment. His face lit up when he saw Billie, and he greeted her with a hug before turning to me with a smile.

"So, you're Violet," Finneas said, his tone warm and teasing. "I've heard a lot about you."

I felt a blush creep up my cheeks, glancing at Billie, who just rolled her eyes playfully. "Don't believe everything she says," I joked, though I couldn't help the flutter of nerves in my stomach. Meeting Billie's family—especially someone as close to her as Finneas—felt like a big deal, but he instantly made me feel at ease.

For the next few hours, I sat in a comfortable corner of the studio, watching Billie and Finneas work. Their dynamic was incredible to witness—the way they bounced ideas off each other, the unspoken understanding that flowed between them as they adjusted melodies and lyrics. I could see how much music meant to Billie, how it was a part of her soul.

Every now and then, Billie would glance over at me, a smile tugging at her lips as if she was glad I was there to share this side of her world. And as I sat there, listening to the music they were creating, I felt an overwhelming sense of belonging, like I was exactly where I was meant to be.

During a break, Billie plopped down beside me, a little out of breath but smiling. "What do you think so far?"

I grinned. "It's amazing. You two are incredible together."

"She's a natural," Finneas chimed in from across the room.

Billie looked over at me, her expression softening. "I'm really glad you're here," she said quietly, her hand brushing against mine.

As the sun set, casting a warm golden glow over the studio, Billie and Finneas finished their session.

"Hey, I should probably get going soon," I said. "I have classes early tomorrow morning."

Billie glanced at me with a smile. "No problem, I'll drive you home."

As we made our way to her car, she added, "I've got a video shoot in the morning. We're finishing up the music video I showed you earlier."

While we gathered our belongings and headed to her car, she added, "I have a video shoot in the morning. We're finishing up the music video I showed you."

"That sounds exciting!" I replied, genuinely impressed by how much she had going on.

The evening air was chilly as we slid into the car, and I appreciated the shift to warmth. When Billie started the engine, music filled the car.

"Today was incredible. Watching you and Finneas work together was inspiring," I said, turning to face her as we drove through the city streets.

"Thanks! It means a lot to hear that from you," she said, her smile wide and genuine. "We've been at this for years, and it's always evolving."

As we drove, Billie spoke about the upcoming music video shoot, her enthusiasm contagious. I could see how much she loved her craft, and it made my heart swell.

"I'll miss you while you're busy," I said, glancing out the window as the city lights blurred by.

"I'll miss you too," she replied, her voice softening. "But I'll make sure to check in and let you know how things are going."

When we arrived at my dorm, I felt a bittersweet twinge as the reality of our evening coming to an end settled in.

Billie parked and turned to me, "I really enjoyed today. You make everything feel extraordinary."

"Thank you, Billie. Being with you makes me feel alive," I admitted, my heart racing at the intensity of the moment.

She smiled, her eyes sparkling in the dim light of the car. "Remember, no matter how busy things get, you're important to me."

I leaned in and pressed my lips against hers, deepening the kiss as time seemed to freeze; it was intoxicating.

As I pulled away, I couldn't help but smile at her. "Goodbye," I whispered, my heart racing as I opened the door and stepped out into the cool night air.

As I turned to wave, I felt a rush of happiness wash over me. I made my way to my dorm room, my mind racing with memories of the day.
