Eva watched the car until it was out of sight, then turned around only to bump into Ezra. She knew he had planned this-Cyrus taking Selena out of camp so Ezra could do whatever he wanted with her.
"Hi," he said, smiling at her, his eyes glinting with mischief.
"Hey," she replied, her tone cautious but steady.
"So... uhm... you said we could talk," he began, shifting his weight nervously. She nodded, keeping her gaze on him.
"Let's go to my tent and talk, nothing physical, I promise," he suggested, trying to sound sincere. She shook her head, her expression skeptical.
"Let's just go over there and talk," she said, pointing to a more isolated spot near the edge of the camp. He nodded, and they both walked towards the area she had indicated.
Once they reached the secluded spot, she crossed her arms, staring at him expectantly. He sighed, stepping closer, his demeanor shifting to one of earnestness.
"I fucked up, and I am sorry," he said, his voice soft and filled with regret.
"You've said that multiple times," she replied, her voice flat, revealing her skepticism.
"I know... but I know it won't be enough. I messed up really badly, and I want to make it up to you," he continued, desperation creeping into his voice. She nodded slightly, gesturing for him to continue.
"When we get back, can I take you to dinner, like a date?" he asked, hoping to make amends. She rolled her eyes, clearly unimpressed.
"Wow... I'm too broke to get my own food. How are you making it up to me with that?" she asked sarcastically, her arms still crossed. He looked at her, puzzled, realizing his romantic gesture had fallen flat.
"Oh... uhm..."
"Do you want to fuck me or what?" she asked bluntly, catching him off guard. His eyes widened in surprise.
"What? No, I mean yeah, I do, but I want to make it up to you for breaking your heart," he stammered, trying to regain his composure. She scoffed, her expression hardening.
"Stop acting like you like me or something. You want to fuck me, and I know it. And guess what? I also want to fuck you too," she said, her voice cool and matter-of-fact. He gasped, taken aback by her straightforwardness.
"Wow," he murmured, feeling a mixture of excitement and confusion. Did she just want to sleep with him and nothing more?
"Your tent, right?" she asked, but he just looked at her, still processing her words.
"Okay... I'll just go sleep," she said, turning to leave when he grabbed her arm and pulled her back, pressing his lips to hers.
She stood there in shock for a moment, feeling the warmth of his lips, but then quickly pulled away from the kiss.
"No kisses," she said firmly, walking towards his tent. She felt that kissing conveyed emotions she wasn't ready to share with Ezra. She didn't want to complicate things by letting feelings get involved. She wanted to keep things purely physical, and kissing was too intimate.
SELENA
I stared at him with so much annoyance. He was a guy, but still, he knew nothing about repairing cars. The frustration of being stuck with him in this situation was bubbling up inside me.
"Just call my brother to come get us," I said, my voice tinged with irritation. He looked at me for a moment before pulling out his phone.
He tried calling Ezra, but the phone rang multiple times without an answer. What the hell was he doing? And why the hell didn't I bring my phone? This place was so isolated, and it was already getting dark. The creeping shadows of the encroaching night added a layer of anxiety to our predicament. Walking back to the camp wasn't an option; we were too far away.
