" But before we all leave here, Ama has a few words to say."
The place suddenly grows extremely quiet.
Ama then audibly walked to the podium, like a queen walking to her Throne. Miss Tetteh took a step back for her. Ama then took time to look at Richmond high, seniors and juniors, staff and police. She then glanced at her little sister before speaking:
"Isn't it interesting that as the head girl you're supposed to keep your head up high, but everything right now is telling me to keep it down? Thats because............."
A FEW HOURS EARLIER
"Now why are you laughing so much?" Nhyira sighed.
Thomas was trying his best to hold back his laughter, but he just couldn't. Thomas and Nhyira were assigned to sweep their dorm by Sir Bruce, who is now popularly known as Mingie.
"Ohhhh Thomas! Why, did someone write you a letter? What???"
"Of course not. Its just funny how different you are."
Nhyira gave him a gentle push before sweeping under a bed.
"I mean it. I thought you of all people would have chosen to find the supplies, but why didn't you?"
"I probably would have chosen the supplies if Boff were at risk."
"For sure," Thomas giggled.
"But Chantelle? She's soooo so so different. She's kind, bold, humble and her bible verses.."
"It's almost like she's a walking bible!" Thomas adds while collecting the rubbish.
"And I'll never forget what she told me," Nhyira remembers. "She told me lies are used by those who want to hide the truth. These juniors don't just want to hide the truth Thomas, they want to burn it, but I'm not going to let them."
"Some people just want to see the world burn!" Thomas said in an elderly British voice.
Nhyira simply continued to sweep.
"You didn't get that? The dark Knight? Oh by the way, what did those juniors want last night?"
"Those boys? Just some foolish stuff" Nhyira quickly said and tried to get more busy.
"Nhyi, you were there for quite some time..."
"You think I'm lying?" Nhyira reacted.
"I didn't say that. I mean, why would you lie?......."
Nhyira looked outside.
"Why would you-hide the truth?"
"Nhyi!" Cyrus shouted unnecessarily.
"What?" Nhyira responded. "And talk well."
"Some fat man wants to see you."
"Don't insult his valentine!!" Thomas laughs.
"Haha," Nhyira responded sarcastically.
Nhyira then forcibly gave Thomas the bin before he followed Cyrus out of the dorm. Before he reached the end to the stairs, the power suddenly went off. Though Nhyira felt uneasy about it, he quickly brushed the feeling off and walked out of the boys dorm to where Cyrus led him. He was surprised to see who the fat man was; Mr Coffie?
"Hey Nhyira," he said while stretching out his hand.
Nhyira slowly shook it.
"Hi Mr Coffie," he responded weirdly. "What brings you here?"
