"Zac, please stick to your day job you cannot sing!" Fatima said laughing as i put on a show. We were playing Kulture Karaoke, a game where you sing the song on the card and the other person has to guess.

"yo you a hater for real" i say sitting down on the couch next to her

"hater? never, im just giving it to you straight, you can't sing"

"mann whatever you can't just let me be great?"

She shook her head, "absolutely not"

"alright bro, you hungry? cause i am"

"i can eat, ill cook something"

"nah babygirl ill cook, what you want?"

"you cook?"

"uh yea, why you say it like that?"

"cause you been in jail"

"so? before i went to jail i was on my own i had o eat somehow"

She nodded, "but can you cook good tho?"

"yes i can"

"mmm okay, but i actually want pizza. i'll order so-" She reached for her phone but i stopped her.

"ill order it, relax" i say pulling out my phone

"are you sure?"

"yes i got it, what you want?"

"pepperoni pizza and mozzarella sticks"

"bet i got you" I began ordering it.

"so can i ask you another question?"

"yea what's up?"

"are you still seeking revenge for what those dude did you your uncle?"

"i won't lie to you, i am."

"why though? why do you have to get revenge?"

"because i don't play about my family, and they fucked with my blood. niggas don't just get away with that shit"

"but what good is that gonna do? you're just going to end up back in jail, i don't want you to end up back in jail"

"don't worry about me, i got it" i put my phone down.

"Zac, you don't have to do it. you have a lot of life in front of you and you're going to throw it all away? your uncle wouldn't want you to do that shit."

"respectfully, why do you care so much?"

"because i see you Zac. you have so much potential to be more than a street nigga. you said you wanted to start in counseling, do that. because while them niggas are still in the streets doing God knows what, you're making bank, legally. If you want to get one up on somebody, start by getting your shit together."

She continued, "you can't hold onto that grudge forever. i'm not saying forget about it, but forgive. You have to forgive in order to move on. getting revenge only creates more problems cause who's to say people won't come after you"

She had a point, "listen, i can't tell you what to do, but i can encourage you to do the right thing. i just hope you listen"

"i'm listening" i tell her and my phone rings. "talk to me not at me pimp" i say answering the phone

"nigga shut up where my sister at?" Remaje asked me

"she right here, what's up?"

"put me on speaker" he said and i did, "yo mic is hot"
